So what did your Mom do to you for colds. Mine was wool soxs and Vicks vapor rub on my feet and chest. Why my feet I never knew why.But the chest really seems to help.
Vicks on the chest - I put it on my kid's feet too - I think it is supposed to waft upward as they move about. My mom always did a vaporizer in the room and lots of liquids. If we had an upset stomach we got flat Coke over ice.

The feet have the most reflex centers for the body (think reflexology) and anything applied to the feet will be absorbed quickly and easily (rub garlic oil on your feet and you should be able to taste it in a few minutes). Rubbing the vicks on the feet will also activate your reflex centers and assist their corresponding organs.

Yup . . Vicks Vapo-rub on the chest covered with one of my dad's big bandana handkerchiefs!!! AND, if we had a sore throat she made us hold a glob of Mentholatum in our mouths until is melted . . . that was AWFUL!!!!!! Memories! CJ

Same here, Vicks and flannel pjs. She would always make me soft boiled eggs and sliced toast and homemade custard, I loved that and it went down so nicely with my sore throats. My Mom was so great at nurturing! Good memories.
