this I made this last week
the yoyo clown ( see previous posts on previous page)
the baby set bear cap and bib ( the weird goldish thing in the picture is the hinge to our uprite grandpiano sorry wasn't thinking when I took the picture I dont play my husband and oldest daughter do I am not talented at all in that way)
blanket for mom of the baby (used the old weave it looms for rugs yeah I know it is not a rug but it was fat yarn and that is what works best with the fat yarn as the 4 inch weave it would be stiff and not soft as the yarn would be to tight) ( this is the wife and kids of my friend that died in the plane crash One more set of items for the last wife of the three men to go to heaven) lap robe pattern is a trip around the world it is a traditional quilt pattern but I thought it worked well here too.
and a bag for my middle daughter from my other older daughter she picked the color combinations from scrapes from the blanket above ( yes it is hanging funny my kid let me borrow it but would not let me take her stuff out of it) It is a sort of one shoulder to the hip type of bag a hippy sort of bag)( the two photos are because she wanted the front and back differnt) Imight redue these hippy bag photos as these came out dark it is the same colors as the blanket

Sunshine, As usual you have made some very nice things, and so thoughtful of you to make these nice things for the familys that had loved ones lost in that plane crash. That blanket is very pretty, all squares sewn together? Keep up the good work like, I like to see it. NANCY JO |

the squares are crocheted together with a continouse (sp?) chain method meaning each square is attached to the next with only one thread to finish once all the squares are crocheted together. ( I got the idea from the way crasiy daisys 1940's use to be crocheted together if you are familiar with that tool sort of like the knit wit of the 70's but made of brass and much nicer ( stonger) came in 3 sizes) Not the typical 1 thead to finish per block and it is much faster then doing each block indivdually with all the stopping and stopping. It is the greenish kakhi color inbetween the blocks it is a chain 7 sc in next bump of weaving repeat around with an extra chain 7 an sc in corners

to Buttercup Is that name from the Princess Bride movie/book. I am glad you like the bib. I had fun making it. You will have to remind me if you find a temari ball that you would like a teddy bear in exchange for it.

I learned how to crochet again while pg with the first kid. ( I sort of knew how as a little girl between 3 and 8 and did not do it again until almost 27 years old. So she doesn't have hardley any hats as I wasn't very fast at making them then. She has 4 or 5 sewn dresses instead.

No Sunshine, it is one of the many nicknames my mother called me when I was growing up. She loved buttercup flowers and for some reason I reminded her of them.

Sunshine Wow! you have made so many beautiful things! Do you knit too? I know how to crochet (a little) I have never had anyone teach me, I just looked at some crotcheted stuff and tried it. I don't know if I hold the thread right or anything. I love to knit, I really will practice the tatting you showed me, I love tatted hankies! Looking at all of your beautiful creations makes me want to try harder! Thanks for posting the pics. Love to you and yours Kate |

to Katiedid, If you need some one on one time with tatting your welcome to come to my house you only live less than 30 minutes away would be glad to help as seeing tatting done and doing it are two differnt things I own enough shuttles that you could pratice while at my house .
frannie, thank you for the compliment I do trade with people so maybe that is a way to get something.
Aunt George , Haven't seen you post in a little while work must be crazy. thank you for the compliment. My daughter loved that dress I don't know if people can tell the top is red gingham. For those that have been around me a little would know I would have a hard time throughing out red/white gingham. As red black and white are my favorite colors.
i just went to your sight while posting this it has been a busy week for you I love the story about nurses and love your photo you look good for the 80's I saw alot bigger hair in the 80's impressiveI have photos like that to not in a nurses uniform of course. I love that apron right above your grad photo. Question do you know where to still buy tose or where to find a pattern. I realy like it.

Sunshine, I wish I didn't live on the other side of the country! I've always wanted to learn to tat. Yesterday when I was out getting yarn to try my first pair of socks I found a book called Learn Needle Tatting step by step by Barbara Foster. Included in the book were four needles, Sizes 8, 7, 5 and 3. I can't wait to give this a try. I could never even figure out how to get the thread on the shuttle when I tried it that way. But this makes so much more sense to me based on the pictures in the book. Now what will I start the socks or play with the tatting. What to do? Of course I'm also in the middle of moving and I have to get everything out of the apartment by 8-1 when I would much rather be picking out fabric and paint for the house!!

I know how to needle tat / cro tat/ and shuttle tat/ sewing needle tat it is differnt than needle tatting. I like the look of shuttle tatting the best it is the tightest stitches. Needle tatting is good but always loose as you have to have the stiches big enough to pass the needle and thread through ( best in my opinion for yarn not thread). Cro tating is a cross between crochet and tatting sort of like crochet and needle tatting actually) I have not done much of this but it travels well and easy to add crochet to I like it it is adiffernt look the rings look like tatting but the chains look like single crochet because that is what they are. To tat with a needle is literly that it is a way of mending and away of adding to an already made project very very very slow but it does have a purpose it has some cleaner joins at times.

Great Rug!! say, I finally found some more rick rack, but this is a small red with a slub weave of white shiney silk running through it. I need to burn test it to make sure it is cotton. I'm going to split the bolt with you. Haven't had time to test it or reel half of it off yet, but plan to this weekend. Sorry, been realllllllllly undone by overwork at the hospital.
Hope you and the girls are well and I loved the photos of all of you on your blog!!
