Sunshine, you know I was a big fan of your recycled bathtowel rugs, and I love this jean one too! Very cool, I love how you used all different colors of denim and a little bit of color thrown in... I will be checking your blog often, I can't wait to see how this rug turns out. Kate

Jean rug is done for now pictures posted. I left the end unfinished so as we wear out more jeans they can be added later to it and make it bigger, Currently it is 3 1/2 feet by 8 1/2 feet. SO what do you all think of it.

Sunshine, I don't know if you received my e-mail or not! If not I have a quick question...I am working on an apron and wanted to know how you suggest attaching the lace you made.
Thank you for all your help!

Nope didn't get that email. Off hand I can't remember which lace I sent you I know there was a few of them. But that doesn't really matter any way. There is what is called the header side of the lace (the straight side). If it is a two sided lace one side straight and one side different lengths scallops and things like that use the straight side. If it is an insertion meaning both sides of the lace are straight then it doesn't matter either side will work. The straight side goes next to the fabric. You can either use a sewing machine by doing a zig zag stitch in as close to the same color as either the fabric or lace that you have. All raw edges that are cut meaning the two ends should be stitched down or enclosed in a seam. If you are doing it as an edging around the apron. Starting at the waist going down then across then up to waist again you can enclose the open ends in the waist band. Stuff like this is hard to explain with out pictures I hope this helps if not let me know. Post questions here as I don't know why I didn't get your e-mail. You can also stitch it on by hand. Either way should be fine.

You answered my question perfectly! I am going to add to to the bottom of the pocket of the apron that I mentioned before (it will hide my bad cutting!) Thank you so much for your help!

Very nice Sunshine, I think you should have one room in the house that just has all your hand mades in, that you are not using at the moment. NANCY JO

some thoughts for the day
TWENTY THINGS TO REMEMBER 1. Faith is the ability to not panic. 2. If you worry, you didn't pray. If you prayed, don't worry. 3. As a child of God, prayer is kinda like calling home every day. 4. Blessed are the flexible, for they shall not be bent out of shape. 5. When we get tangled up in our problems, be still. God wants us to be still so He can untangle the knot. 6. Do the math. Count your blessings. 7. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts. 8. Dear God: I have a problem. It's me. 9. Silence is often misinterpreted, but never misquoted. 10. Laugh every day -- it's like inner jogging. 11. The most important things in your home are the people. 12. Growing old is inevitable, growing up is optional. 13. There is no key to happiness. The door is always open. Come on in. 14. A grudge is a heavy thing to carry. 15. He who dies with the most toys is still dead. 16. We do not remember days, but moments. Life moves too fast, so enjoy your precious moments. 17. Nothing is real to you until you experience it; otherwise it's just hearsay. 18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done. 19. Surviving and living your life successfully requires courage. The goals and dreams you're seeking require courage and risk-taking. Learn from the turtle, it only makes progress when it sticks out it's neck. 20. Be more concerned with your character than your reputation.Your character is what you really are, while your reputation is merely what others think you are. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there's always a rainbow waiting. Leave gentle fingerprints on the soul of another for the angels to read. I don't want to get to the end of my life and find that I lived just the length of it. I want to have lived the width of it as well.

She is being a little trooper she went to school yesterday. ( I am not making her do that she wants to) She came home later in the day to much pain. She went again today she is very excited about school last year her best friend moved away, two days ago she moved back. So the only way she can see her is at school so she is trying real hard to be brave and go to school to see her friend and stay caught up. She is braver than I think I would be if my body was doing what hers is.

Thanks Sunshine, I'm going to print out a copy of the 20 things to remember and keep it close at hand. I just love your blog. I went to the link for the poppy pins and wrote down the directions for making them. I'm going to try one today, yours are so cute. I also printed out the heart yo yo instructions. I love to make things that can use up the bits and pieces of fabric leftovers. |

For those of you that followed the jean rug being made. I assume you know it was part of a contest. It didn't win first prize but it did win a craft book it is just fun to say I have a prize winning rug. Silly yes.
And if you are wondering why I am up at this hour I have actually been up for two hours as I now have two sick kids with 103 temps
