When President Bush asked the Japanese Prime Minister who he would like to be entertained by at the White House this month, the Japanese Prime Minister said "he wanted to go to Graceland as he was a huge Elvis fan." So Prez Bush "people" call up Priscilla and Lisa Marie to have them personally escort Prez Bush and the Japanese Prime Minster through Graceland. Graceland said it was the first time two heads of state will visit. Prez Bush said he had never been there before. So June 30th will be Japanese Elvis Day!!!
I remember as a child my mother listening to "Love Me Tender" on the radio as she ironed clothes and peeled peaches. As a young girl the radio was an important part of farm life. My father/grandparents listened to the Grand Opry. Do you listen to the radio anymore or is everything you listen to IPod?? |

I dont own an ipod, answering machine, cell phone, laptop, palm pilot or most of that stuff. I love radio and I listen to SOME talk radio but mostly music or my CD's. I love CD's because I can listen to exactly what I want. Right now my favorite music to listen to is (DONT LAUGH) the standards especially w/ Rod Stewart singing them. I have his volumes 1 & 2 & I love them. He has the perfect voice for them. He sings a few songs w/ Dolly (Baby its cold outside) Cher, (Bewitched, Bothered & Bewildered). My favorite is " A Nightingale sang in Berkeley Square, just makes you want to dance. So romantic and I am a sucker for romance.

Michele, I love the Rod Stewart ones. Especially Bewitched, Bothered and Beguiled with Cher. It's too cute. Who ever would have thought Rod would do this kind of music....and be so good at it!

Well, how about listening to radio ON my iPod? My husband just showed me how to do that...downloading NPR Stories of the Day and podcasts and such... But since I spend my days caring for my baby son, I can't have those headphones in my ears anyway! I have the radio on all day. Minnesota Public Radio (we're very lucky in this state, it's awesome here). I switch between the news channel, The Current (a hodgepodge of every kind of music you can think of but still public so no annoying commercials!) and good old classical. My husband was just road-tripping to a wedding out east and said the only radio he could find was a public classical channel...he listened because it made him think of me. Aw...

p.s. I do use my iPod for Jackson's lullabies and playtime-fun-kiddie music though. It's awesome...small and easy to hook up to tiny speakers for his room. I have a lullaby mix that could go on for hours...nice to not have to shuffle with CDs when I'm rocking him to sleep!
