Wow. My thermometer on my computer says it's 81 in South Arkansas today. I'm wearing sandals with my pants and took my kids out for an extra recess this afternoon. A front is blowing in and it's absolutely gorgeous here. The daffodils are blooming and the grass is getting green. Keep in mind, we also had snow 2 weeks ago to the date. That's life in Arkansas. Our saying is, if you don't like the weather, hang around, it'll change!

Well we have such a mild winter that I was shocked to wake up to a foot and a half of snow. It doesn't even seem that cold. The horse is a weathervane on top of the loafing shed in the pasture. I like it.

LOL! Ohhh, poor little groundhog!! I don't think Phil lied... I've been to Punxy AND even to Gobbler's Knob on Groundhog Day before... God love 'em, but did you happen to notice how old some of those men of Punxsutawney Groundhog Club's Inner Circle are who talk with Phil? I think they're just hard of hearing! LOL!!! I'll let you all in on a little secret, too... Gobblers' Knob is smack dab in the middle of the woods. Even on an unusually sunny morning (which it never is - they do this super early, when the sun has barely risen!), it'd be hard for Phil to see his shadow... They have huge lights on him that cast those shadows he sees or doesn't see... Personally, I think it's rigged, and poor Phil is their scapegoat... Please don't blame it on the poor little groundhog... it's a CONSPIRACY, I tell you! LOL! I mean, "Inner Circle?" REALLY? Doesn't that tell you something right there?! LOL!
Groundhog day in Punxsutawney is just so much fun, though; and these guys take the whole thing VERY seriously, too! They have a whole website dedicated to Phil and his history - you should check it when you have a sec! www.groundhog.org There's some pretty interesting stuff there!

I agree with you too. And guess what!!!! We don't even have Groundhogs in Western Washington and maybe the whole state. But not in the Puget Sound area. So there!! MB

i have never put stock in Phil due to the televison lighting and cameras!
I DO wish, however, that he had been right this year..we are waiting for a snow and ice storm tonite in michigan....
i'll check that website when i get my homework done-oops! ya caught me on here now!

your getting snow where we are getting sever threating storm tonight and into tomorrow and they are bringing large hail damaging winds and tornadoes. Boy am i glad my DH is getting off work tonight at 630 instead of 1030. Hope we will be ok.
Here comes the warmer weather!!! May God Bless all of our gardens!!!!
