That's what I LOVE about the bumtots-it's one size fits all up to 25 lbs! We're using disposables until her umbilical cord falls off though-we haven't had to buy any though-we got a BUNCH of newborn diapers at our baby shower even though we didn't register for any since we knew we were doing cloth!

Here's a website with videos and reviews-I really enjoy this site:

http://dirtydiaperlaundry.com/

I went with the bummis totbots because the business that sells them here is small, I can always call and ask questions/get support/re-sell back to them! :)

Question to all the cloth diapering mama's: What do you use to wash your diapers? I usually make my own laundry detergent, but I'm not sure if the borax/washing soda/soap mixture is going to be residue free. Bummis has a list of residue-free laundry detergents, but, I'd rather use something I know is safe.

Megan- I used the homemade laundry soap and used vinegar in the rinse water. I never had a problem.

I was doing some research and there is no way I can afford to buy new cloth diapers, well the nice all in one kind. . . So I did some research and I found this pattern. I have tons of fabric laying around and if I get up early and go to bed an hour later than I normally do I can probably make myself what I need in no time at all. I am ordering this pattern as soon as I can (tomorrow) so hopefully by the time I run out of disposable diapers I will be able to have my own cloth diapers ready to go! I found some used diapers on craigslist but I can't do that, it would bug me so off to learning how to sew I go! The biggest project I have made to date is a tote bag so this will be trial and error but I have to do it to keep my kids in diapers! Here is the pattern I found: http://www.chloetoesboutique.com/store/WsDefault.asp?Cat=ChloeToesDiaperPattern

It isn't free, but I like the way they look, does anyone happen to know of any free patterns that are similar? I want to order this pattern tomorrow so I would have to find something before then. Thanks :)

Krystle, good luck sewing them! I wouldve loved to. I, however, lack the sewing skills! I do know a girl at my church who uses pre-folds on her baby. Have you thought about that?

PS. I bet if you added the snaps on the front of the diaper on those patterened ones like on the bummis totbots you'd have a one size fits all diaper as well! :)

Has anyone used the gDiaper system? I've seen them at our health food store and they have two options - the biodegradable or the cloth insert.

Hey everyone-you can also buy them used online at www.birthdepot.com. You can also list your used cloth diapers online for free. :)

I used the first generation of G diapers. I'm not sure if I like the new generation, haven't used them. But, I loved the first generation. However, my inlaws threw them away. I am so mad about it! UHG!

OMG Heather. First generation? Not sure I've seen them. Are they very different from what they have now?

Megan, DO you know much about the site? Are they pretty reliable? They do have some interesting stuff and decent prices.

I've heard nothing but good things, personally, on the used site. I'm a rep for the NEW cloth diaper website, so I can guarantee you good service there, if that's what you're talking about.

I'm just always cautious about websites I don't know, particularly that sell used items. I wasn't as worried about the diaper website as I knew you were part of it.

Most of the ladies on birthdepot have been involved in some way with everything birth. Always be careful, though. I dont know if you have a local cloth store, but ours will have quarterly consignment sales on diapers/carriers, so maybe see about that, too.
