Sounds like me! A few weeks ago I placed holds on about a dozen books. Several of them indicated there were other people in line ahead of me, so I figured they would trickle in slowly over the next few months. Boy, was I ever wrong! I went by the library to return a some books the other day. I had received a message that there was a book waiting so I went to the hold shelf and found 11 of the 12 books! Yikes! So I have my reading cut out for me with a collection of cookbooks, craft and gardening books. Not sure when I'll have time to look at all of them.
Cheers! ~ Marilyn

I love the library too! I get a little nervous if I don't have a book or two to read...

Kristina,
Your librarian may be able to get the covered wagon books through their inter library loan system. Most libraries have the program. I have gotten a variety of books that are not in our county library system from other libraries in Arizona and across the USA.

Thanks, but I can actually order the interloan requests from my home computer, and the libraries do not have them in their system.

I haven't been to library for ages. Maybe because I like to take my time to read and write on my books. I don't think I will be going back anytime soon. The last count of books I have at home is 600+. Maybe in 5+ years I will go back to a library. I do miss the library though. |

Finally....I finished the book Cover Wagon Women, vol.2 - Phew!
The last diary included that she "feasted" on potatoes, green corn and something else, one day. I had to look up "green corn" to see what they meant by it. Very interesting diaries to read. It's interesting that many meals are not described. I would be interested in what they made and ate on their way across the U.S. Anyway, it was a very good book. I believe one woman mentioned they only had tea for their dinner.
