We just recycled a used french door for our den along with up-cycling our out of date Brass door knobs and hinges with spray paint!

Debbie, thanks for the post! very inspirational!

I love the door knobs. I recently did this in my bathrooms. One day cleaning, I thought,"why are my bathroom door knobs brass and my faucets, towel holders, etc. are brushed nickel?" so i painted them and what a difference! it really made it up-to-date.
Now looking at this post, I'm thinking, my lights and faucet in the kitchen are oil-bronze so I guess I should paint those door knobs too.

Deb, I really like the door knob idea. We have ugly old hinges and door knobs from the early '70's. Now I am itching to try this.

Thanks ladies! It's been a few weeks since we did this project and so far the paint on the knob is holding up well... Just like you, I've got my eye on some other metal knobs and hinges to paint!
