Hi,
Thought that some of you might be interested in the directions for making apple butter that I put up at the blog at www.oklahomapastrycloth.com/blog It is really easy and always gets me compliments. My son usually takes a case home with him to Texas!! :-)

It really is good. It is the way my grandmother used to make it. You can use peaches or pears or apricots too, instead of apples.

Why, thank you, Beverly! How nice of you to say that. I really appreciate it. It is a labor of love - truly - because this old dog is having to learn an awfully lot of new tricks to make it happen!! HTML used to be letters in the alphabet to me. Now I dream about them!!

Yes, nightmares might be more appropriate!! I felt so sorry for the young man who developed my website. I made each page on Word and showed him what I wanted and then he did the writing in HTML for each page. No Pagemaker or DreamWeaver. Then he attempted to show me how to manage the site. HA!! He might as well have spoken Greek because that was what it was to me! He would just rattle and rattle and I'd say, "Could you start over at that first part?" I think that he was seriously contemplating killing me. :-) But I'm still here!!

I just put up a recipe for apple pie filling at the blog and a little history on pies if you are interested! Have you ever had any pie disasters?? I admitted mine. :-)

I love your pie stories! I really don't have any....none that I can really remember anyway. I usually make pies once or twice a year but I hope to change that as my inner farmgirl finds it's way to the surface :) Your pie filling recipe is definitely another one I'll want to try! Since I've found MJF, I don't think I'll ever leave my kitchen!

Thanks for sharing this great one too!

Thanks Beverly! :-) This past week we had two lovely Mennonite men add on to the back of our house. Such workmanship! I'm one of those people if you're at my house, I'm going to feed you and so I made them a hot lunch and whipped up an apple pie in a matter of minutes. Of course it took an hour to bake, but it was so easy. I just love having fruit pie filling on hand. You can make peach filling with this same recipe.
