I think that we may have a pretty snowy, wet winter here in North Idaho.

Well I was hoping for another cold winter here like last year. But I think we are going to have more of a mild winter. Maybe just a few freezes and that's it.

I was walking a few days ago with a friend and we saw an almost all black wooly worm. That's the only one I have seen so far. It had a little bit of orange up front but the rest was black. That is not a good thing. I think I would like to go visit the Virgin Islands or maybe Hawaii maybe for the winter. They are nice and warm.

I have NEVER experienced a fall like we are having here in the Great North Woods-The days are sunny and warm with just the gentlest breeze coming off the bay- But, I am predicting all heck is going to break loose and soon!

I am predicting a winter that will go down in the history books!

Snow, snow, snow, snow SNOW!!

Turned cold here already! The leaves seemed to turn colors in just a few days, and are falling off now.
I hope that this winter isn't like the last. It was DARN cold and the snow didn't seem to melt after a few days like usual - it took a few MONTHS!
Dad is battening down the hatches though for the coming winter - wonder if I should too...
Smiles!

We had a HOT HOT summer here in Chicago. Lots of rain in the spring and now beautiful this fall so far.

I would LOVE snow. But something is telling me it's going to be dry & extremely cold.

I love to hear all these predicitons, keep um coming.
I say a mostly brown wooly worm yesterday with a little tiny srtip of black on each end. So I am begining to wonder if it wont be really cold with little snow. The drought we are in right now has me wondering the samething.

They are predicting a very cold winter in the NE. Along with that they are predicting oil above $3 and propane also. Sure miss my wood stove. LOL! I predict a very cold and snowy winter and I love it. Nothing better than being in a good old fashioned snowstorm. Bring it on!

My husband and I have both noticed a TON of acorns this year - so many that you have to be careful not to slip on them when you walk, and my dog keeps bringing them in the house to play with them! Seriously, they are just coating the ground-I've lived here for 10 years and have never seen anything like it.

According to the farmers almanac, lots of acorns means a hard winter..

I predict a cold snowy winter. My hope is it only snows on Saturday and Sunday so the roads are clear of snow and ice to drive to work safely Monday - Friday.

A weather man who is a FB friend, told us that the Pacific is showing a La Nina bend. That means a snowy winter for us. He said that he thinks it may be less than 2 years ago, but not much....4.5 feet or so. Not wanting too much snow...but don't have a choice. ;0)

Oh Suzie! I hope those old timers are having problems with their spectacles. It was 14 this morning out at my garden. The vines that I hadn't cleared, snapped like a stick. That bad winter caused the huge I-beam to crack in our 3 vehicle shop. We had to replace our whole building....very expensive. Seems insurances don't like to pay out for much. Over 5 feet of snow on the flat....waay tooooo much. Reminded me of Alaska.

I'm predicting COLD!
It was wonderful here yesterday. Fall leaves and fairly warm air. I was even able to ride the bike and take neighborhood fall pictures.

Today it is COLD! My legs are protesting [my crummy circulation tells me better then any wolly worms].
Smiles!

Noooooo Snoooooo!
I was out with another driver making deliveries yesterday, he kept asking if the weather guessers said anything about snow?!
Snow? I want some sort of fall this year. 60 or 50 degree weather. Time to take up the leaves and get the house ready and all.
It was COLD and rainy all yesterday though. And a friend that is coming for a visit got trapped in a snowstorm and had to sit it out in Vail, CO.
It's here...

Mice invading the house, lots of wooly worms, horses and cows have thick undercoats, snowline is already down below 7000ft up in Taos. Last two mornings here on the plains of NM water tanks have had crust of ice. Brrrrrrrrrrr it looks like a hard winter ahead but ask me next april and I should know what kind of winter will be had for winter of 2010/2011(hee hee :)

Carla, I like that "weather guessers". :) It has been such an odd year for weather, I can't imagine that winter will be any different. Two weeks ago we were walking around dealing with record heat (shorts and tank tops in October?) and last night we took the plummet into winter - 40 mph sustained winds since yesterday morning, sleet and snow all continued until this evening. So my prediction is whatever happens this winter, it will be one to talk about. :)

I don't think we're ever going to get winter here in Houston. It's 80 deg this morning with 100% humidity. We're supposed to have a "cold front" come through tomorrow and the daytime temps will get "down" to the high 70s. Aaargh! It's this time that I miss my beautiful Colorado the most!
