It says that you are charged 10 cents for each listing. Then it says "multiplied by the item quantity". So if I were to sell a set of 5 greeting cards (packaged together) as a SET, would I be charged ten cents per card? It would be listed as a packaged set of greeting cards: 5 cards and 5 envelopes. Probably tied together with ribbon or something but they would not be sold individually.

No. If you listed a set of cards for whatever price as a unit it would be one item.

Hello ladies. I wanted to get started selling on etsy. Do you find that you do pretty well with it. The market is so slow right now. Let me know..if you wouldn't mind.

Take care

Well...So far I have sold one item. In about 6 months. Not working so well for me but then I don't fuss with it very much. I'm building stock for Farm Fair right now. After that, I'll probably list a lot more.

Etsy is slow for me too. What I notice is that unless you keep new things listed then your items kind of get "forgotten". The categories and search are set up to display newest listed things first. So from time to time I go in and relist things. Always get a sale or two that way. This is a slow time of year for any online auction site. People aren't as trapped inside so they're not on the computer as much. June, July, and August were always my slowest months on eBay. So I take the summer months to do craft shows and festivals plus have sales in our store. But even that isn't going so good -- had a 2 day sale at my house and made $11!!! Oh well! I'm going to concentrate on Farm Fair and get lots of stuff ready for that.

Hello. You gals are soooo lucky..you are going to Farm Fair. I can not make it this year as i discovered the wonderful MaryJanes Farm only recently and have already planned my summer stuff and we just couldn't afford to add to it. Not that we go away much....neither one of us care for leaving home all that often, but we have already planned a camping trip with kids/family/etc. Anyway my daughter and I are already planning for next year :). Thank you for the input on Etsy. I am going to give it a try probably in the fall. You are rigth abouty things being slow. My crowsoup page is extremely slow.

Take care and good luck with sales

hi rustic cottage,
i am glad to hear etsy is a bit slow right now. i listed some items about one week ago, and nothing has moved. anyhow, it makes sense, summer is here and it is hot inside my house, i too should be outside.
i wish i could go to farm fair, but i can't this year. but maybe next year...
etsy does seem to be great for many people i wouldn't give up and i would recommend it to any other farm girl!

love, janet
