I've never tried this one before, so thought I'd share in case others could use it. My nephew had a staph infection on his face, running a fever, etc. It was really red, swollen and painful. I made a paste of honey and turmeric and covered the area with it. the swelling had gone down by about 1/3 in a little over an hour. When I took him back to the doctor later that afternoon, he was surprised by how well it was doing, but of course thought it was the antibiotic. My brother called me this morning to say that the infection is all but gone, no more pain, no more swelling. I will most definitely include this in my big book of home remedies! Has anyone else tried this?

Rhonda, that's great. That could have been really serious for him. I'm so glad that worked. I use turmeric and aloe on woulnds for us and the animals. It works really good and fast. Turmeric has so many good things in it. And so does honey. Where did you hear about doing this together?

I use turmeric all the time, as an anti-inflammatory, so decided to give it a try. apparently the swelling is what makes it hurt so much. it's pretty much gone today. and honey is good for so many things that i use it as a base for many poultices, soaps, salves etc.

I had a really bad burn on my finger, small but very deep. Didn't do anything the first day then remembered honey. Put honey on it and it was amazing how fast it started healing. Once it no longer looked raw I started putting tea tree and vit e oil on it at night and honey on it during the day. It is almost healed so now I'm using the tea tree/vit e at night but rubbing aloe vera on it during the day. Doesn't look like it will even scar.
I will have to check our tumeric also, thanks for the info.

My veterinarian is recommending an herbal glucosamine that has tumeric in it, called PhyCox. The turmeric has anti-inflamatory properties.
