I was reading "In Touch", a monthly devotional I get in the mail, when I came to this weekend's devotional, titled "Are You a Threat to Satan?"
The recommended reading is 1 Peter 1:6-7 (New American Standard Bible)
6 In this you greatly rejoice, even though now for a little while, if necessary, you have been distressed by various trials,
7 so that the proof of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
I believe I was meant to read this...to show me how completely God is involved in my life, how I can rely on His presence, how Satan sees that, and tries to make me stumble. I was supposed to be leaning on the Lord that day when I got so upset.(stumbled...humbled)
Galatians 2:20 (New American Standard Bible)
20"I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
I realize in my own efforts I will never completely achieve what those words say, but I've finally found the purpose in what I experienced that day, which was probably the reason I experienced those feelings of abject failure in the first place...as Charles Stanley says, "failure is the catalyst that brought
(brings - in my situation) forth greater faith and true servanthood."
I love how God does that in my life, draws me so perfectly to a message I know can only have been from HIM to me,for me in my circumstance. Our God IS an awesome God!

Wow, Chandra. That is amazing how God does that. Just for you at that moment YOU need it. And you have probably read that a million times before but just then it actually meant something. That happened to me the other day. Well, it happens alot but specifically this time it was like a slap in the face. Man, that hurts! Those whooppin's from the Lord. They sure get ya good! But you sure do remember them. I am so glad you are leaning on Him. That's where we need to be in times like this.
