Hello Farmgirls, I'm just jumping on the wagon with all of you and very excited that I found this. I've been a fan of MJ for years, she has kept the 4-H flame going inside of me when I didn't have a farm. I now have the farm, it's small, in Berwick Maine, we are awaiting the arrival of Elmo the llama and four Navajo-Churro sheep. We have had chickens and now a new batch, I have them tilling up my yard in their chicken tractor. I work at a farm store and deal with small farmers all day, it's one of the best jobs ever because it reminds me there are other people out there trying too keep the land alive.
Happy Planting! Marjorie

Welcome Marjorie!! How fun to work at a farm store..I would surely love that!! I have had Navajo churro sheep in the past a few times...in fact my last ram was churro. I have 2 Icelandic ewes and will be keeping my little 1/2 churro 1/2 Icelandic ewe lamb and the other two lambs from that ram (and an Icelandic mom) are going to Libbie..another farmgirl here soon. I love the size of both the Icelandics and the churros. You will love them! Do you spin??? It will be fun to get to know you here!

Welcome Marjorie! You will find this group of gals to be the best! We have so much fun here - be sure to get in on the forum for the Teacup and Saucer exchange and let us know what you collect in the Collector's Treasure Chest - it is a fun way for us to get small gifts for eachother. Also, in the Reading Room, if you are an Anne of Green Gables fan you can jump in on our Round Robin Anne of Green Gables story! Give a hollar if you need anything!

Howdy and welcome Marjorie! I'm brand new here myself. Your post reminded me of the 4H activities that might be going on in my neck of the woods (town). I think I'll check into what's happening! Thanks and good to meet you. |

Hi Marjorie, welcome from Washington State. Although your farm is small I'm sure you will find that it will bring much happiness in your life. Remember to always plan for the unexpected for it will happen on a farm!
