Hi ladies! I see Sara in now in North Carolina? How is she liking the weather?? The east coast has been a little crazy these past few weeks. Snow and ice. Rain and ice. Oh, and they are calling for more snow in Jew Jersey Thursday night into Friday morning.

take care

When Sara arrived Friday it was very cold, ice and snow still on the ground. It warmed up a bit over the weekend and we played in the yard, raking leaves for the dog to play in and looking for the last of the pecans, the squirrels got most of them this year. Sara has been spending time at the office with me and we went shopping to Hobby Lobby tonight, I really shouldn't go there just looking around, I always come home with something I didn't know I needed until I saw it. We're going to the barn this weekend to check on the horses, who knows, maybe Sara will get to go for a ride!
Having a good time and will try to post some pics before she leaves here early next week.

Any chance I can get in on the fun? I am new (this is my very first post)to the Farmgirl Connection. I have been eavesdropping for sometime and actually started a traveling doll with my daughter (age 11) just this past week based after seeing all of your posts. She is going to use it for her 4-H project 'Create your own'. I would love to have Sara come to see us!

Hay Ya'll, Any chance that Sara will be up to a trip to the Poor House Ranch in Alabama. She can go with me to feed the cows and bottle feed the calf. She can go horse back riding and help plan my spring garden...she could help me with my taxes....uck and feed the chickens, all roosters now. And I'll even teach her to quilt.. I hope she won't be too worn out for a visit down south. Love and Prayers, Daizy

Alee, please look for my info in your e-mail.

Welcome SISTER Melissa, I love the 4H project...your DD will have such great memories.

Sara was to leave yesterday but haven't been able to get out of here to the post office. She should be off tomorrow around lunch on her next journey to Linda in Pennsylvania. We have had a good time and I will try to post some pics tonight (with my hubby's help) and some details of her visit.

Well Sara left here Friday, I just tracked her progress and shes in Pennsylvania, should make it to Linda's tomorrow or Tuesday.
Want to share our adventures, hope this works--

Heres Sara the day she arrived, it was cold with snow and ice on the ground so we had a cup of lemon ginger tea to warm us up

Sara spent her days at the office with me either on my desk

or in the window with Annie watching the Main Street activities

We went to a concert at the museum-Susan Sherlock was playing the hammer dulcimer and singing appalachian ballards. We stayed after the performance and Sara got her picture taken with Susan and her beautiful dulcimer you can go here http://www.susansherlock.com/susansherlock.com/Home.html and hear a sample of her music (it wouldn't work on my computer but worked fine on my husband's) it's really beautiful.

Here's Sara and Annie having cookies together

Sara couldn't eat all her cookies so Annie was ready to help

While Sara was her I gave her a small gold locket, this is one my daughter wore 25 years ago

I also made her a gown and some slippers

This was the last night Sara was visiting with me and we are enjoying a cup of sleeytime tea before bed. Sara left the next day for Pennsylvania.

Its been a long time since I made doll clothes and really enjoyed showing Sara around town.

I hope Sara has a safe trip to the next farmgirl.

Yes it was fun to play dolls again. The gown I refashioned from a little girls shirt and I found the buttons for the slippers in a button collection that had been my mother in laws. I have not done any hand sewing in a loooong time. The pictures were easier than I thought, but I did have my hubbys help.

My husband asked me yesterday if I missed Sara!

Oh, and Sara does not have any pictures in her locket yet, hope someone can find something small enough to fit.

Alee, Can we get a list posted of what Sara has acquired on her visits so far? I'm last and would like to plan something for her but don't want to duplicate what she already has. Someone dropped of a pony here several months ago, so I suppose he is now mine....I wonder if Sara would like to take a pony home with her??
(Just a joke....he is now my "destiny" pony which means that I was destin to rescue him from being homeless/pastureless) Still, a list of Saras belongings would be helpful. Love and Prayers, Daizy

I was just checking in to see what Sara has doing....She has been very busy!! Sara will be coming my way soon to Georgia. Daisy how does a pony get "dumped" ? I know that people dump cats and dogs...but a pony that took some planning. Glad to hear that she now has a home. Destiny would make the perfect name for him. Bless you for finding room in your heart for a "stray". Barbara
