Just curious if anyone here pen pals? By postal mail that is? I've been doing it since I was 14 and I love it! I'll keep writing til my fingers fall off or I wake up dead, whatever comes first, lol (I'm 29 btw) Just wondered if anyone else here does too? :)

LMAO!!!! :) So awesome...... How about swapping Friendship Books (FB's for short) Anyone know what those are? I started pen palling thanks to Tiger Beat, back in 95. It had a pen pal column at the time. I wrote to 3 people, 2 wrote back, and 1 I still talk to (mostly on facebook however). A couple of years later, 97/98ish, I started getting online, and "found" a bunch of pen pal websites. I placed an ad, and through some of the replies I learned what the fb's were... Since then, while I do still place an ad online sometimes, (I have a po box) I get most of my pen pals from those, and also a few pen pal newsletters. I love getting mail that ain't bills or ads for just plain junk that I'll never use in my life!! :)

Yeah its interesting to see all the places one little booklet has been. Basically you put your name and address on it, and send it to a pen pal. She (or he) adds theirs, and sends it on to one of their pen pals, usually someone you don't know, and so on, and so on. As it gets passed around, people who recieve it can write to the others in it, and get new pen pals that way. Its fun. :)

There's a penpal swap going on right now. You should sign up! I am definitely down for a friendship book. That sounds so cool. I've done a tea towel embroidery swap like that. You have 5 people in a group and the towel gets sent around to each person and they have to stitch something on it.

I would like some pen pals. I tried it when I was a kid, but my life was so boring they gave up on me. LOL The Friendship book sounds similar to a bookring. (bookcrossing.com) You post a book you want to start a ring for and when everyone is signed up you send it out. It goes from one person to the next and everyone has to post a comment about it until it comes back to you.
