There is a website especially for someone building their own blog...I am sure there are many, but I use blogspot.com. It has an easy tutorial about getting started, and then you can learn about fancying it up as you go. It tells how to download photos, etc, also. Check it out, lots of the girls use it here.

I also use Blogger.com. It was pretty easy to set up. I also used shabbyblogs.com for background.

I use blogspot too. I was new to it and it was very easy to use and understand.

this sounds kinda scary...I'm not real technological...but I have alot to say and alot to share that I think people would like to learn and see. How often do people visit your blogs? I go to the Pioneer Woman's Blog and she has thousands of followers and her blog is so wonderful!

dang...dang...dang... I tried to create a blog and the dial-up at our house is sooooo abysmally slow, I'm going to have to try a different route. Thinking about doing an online newsletter instead....

Debbie, don't be scared! There's a lot that I don't get about what to do, but like some of the other posters have said, Blogspot is easy to work with.
I bet there's quite a few of techie gals right here that can help if you get stuck.
