Whew....Saturday we got up at 4:00 in the a.m. and headed up North to a juried Art Show in Arbor Vitae, Lakeland County MI. before 5:00 we were on the phone calling 911! DH slammed smack dab into a doe and took out the blinker light on the driver's side we were less than 30 miles from our home with a long way to go to get to Arbor Vitae and the show.
The crowds were steady and the weather fine. We met a lot of nice customers and made the acquaintance of a shop owner from a very large city in Wisconsin who was interested in buying my soap for her little shop! We did very well on Saturday and had our tables and gear loaded up and ready to get home by 3:00 in the afternoon. All in all besides hitting that poor doe we had a very good soap show!
Just wanted to share some good news from the Great North Woods...

Im glad your day ended turned out to be successful. When we go to maine alot of times we leave late at night and that is what I am afraid of running into a dear or moose, the both can do a lot of damage to a vehicle. Sometimes they just wait on the side of the road, we see a lot of them in maine.

Jill...I lived in Maine for over four years at Dow Air Force Base in Bangor. My baby sister was born there!
The deer are abundant, but it's confusing that there are so many on the move this time of year. We could see her on the side of the road, but could not stop in time-I have a tendency to want to swerve-natural instinct I guess, but Bruce has more experience and tried desperately to stay the course but slow down to stop-didn't work out that way and we clipped her just as she almost crossed the center line-I just hate doing that and worried when we couldn't see her afterward.
Just put a damper on the rest of the day. Hopefully our trip up North for another art show, next Saturday will be accident free-
