Good morning, I am brand new to the forum, I love MaryJane's books and magazines so much, I decided to join in. I am a country girl at heart, spent many childhood vacation weeks at my grandparent's working farm in northern Indiana in Amish country. I learned alot about canning, gardening and the farmgirl life from them and from my Mom too.
This morning I was out in our woods and along the ponds picking blackberries. We have had very hot weather and no rain for a month now, so the nice berries are here and there. I did pick enough to make up a batch of jam and for eating fresh.
I live in the woods here in the ozarks of Missouri-our retirement home. I enjoy hanging my wash on the line and listening to all the song birds, learning to garden in large pots since the land and weather is so harsh here. I am building a rock shower for our bathroom, and just enjoying this gorgeous country, and finding my creative farmgirl self again.Kathy (Kathyinozarks)

Welcome Kathy!! You've come to the right place!!
So many wonderful and supportive people right at your fingertips!!
I'm in Grosse Ile, Michigan ... an island about 10 miles long and 3 miles wide in southeastern lower Michigan right at the mouth of Lake Erie. No matter where we all live we are neighbors online! I'm really interested in hearing more about that rock shower you're building ... we're getting ready to remodel our house and I just love to learn about everyone's home projects!

Your Farmgirl Friend,
Tracey

Thank you all so much for welcomes. My rock shower project is a labor of love, but it is taking me way too long-I have collected most of rocks from here in my woods and creeks, and I have had alot of rocks sent to me from all over the world and the states by my blog friends.
I am working really hard for this year to be completed. I just had a setback, got into some bad mortar, so had to take down a months worth of my work. But I am striving forward and will be back on it again soon here is a link to photos from my blog http://kathyinozarks.multiply.com/photos

From one Kathy to another "WELCOME"
We are going to build a small cabin up in the mountains, hopefully our retirement home. Would love to see your shower. If you need a rock from North Carolina, let me know.
I know you will love it here, have fun.

Howdy back to you both, we lived on the Wisconin-Illinois border, on the Illinois side near Lake Geneva for about 25 years before retiring to Missouri, also went a couple years to college long long time ago up at Stout State-so I am a big Packer fan-lol and I have a love for Colorado too-lived there a couple years outside of Denver-loved it. I am off to check my canner-made some wild blackberry and mango jam this morning

Hello Kathy, Welcome...I went to your website and looked at your pictures. Love the rock shower. You are so lucky to have those quilt blocks that were made for you. Your quilt will be wonderful. I love that you are hand quilting it. Hope you post pictures of the quilt and the shower when you're done.
