HI ! I am new to Maryjanes farmgirl connection, I'm from the southern part of Tn in Coffee county, very rural. We live 6 miles to the nearest small town. No neighbors within looking distance. We have 2 gardens and grow most all our own vegetables. We also planted fruit trees 3 yrs ago and have been rewarded with our first goodies this year. We have berries and grapes. Chickens and 3 Australian Shepherd dogs.
I can and freeze and dehydrate, make jellies, jams, and butters. I have been making our yogurt since January.
I crochet, knit (some), and quilt.
I am pleased to find this group and hope to meet people that shares the yearnings to simplify,
till we chat again, have a blessed and productive day !

A big Wisconsin hay dare to ya Susan! We are so glad you joined us. Try the Welcome Wagon topic. I know it is hard at first to navigate this site, but once you get the hang of it, it is easy and addictive. Also use the subscibe to this topic button in the upper right hand corner, it makes it easy to find your posts and any replies.

Welcome Susan,
Hi from MN. You will fine lots in common with many of your new found sisters. We have a huge garden and have been working on starting an orchard for several years. We got our first cherries last summer and our first apricots this year. We have apples, peaches, pears, and have tried nectarines too besides lots of strawberries raspberries and some others. What fruits do you have planted? I make yogurt, I've tried cultures but found a natural Greek yogurt we like better as a starter and try to keep it going from there. I have mostly frozen food so far this summer but the freezer is already just about full so I'm back to canning. We have 2 Australian Shepherd, a bit over a year and a half, definately loving high energy dogs. I like various crafts, and have my first pieced quilt maybe half way pieced.

Hi from Maine! We have a 13 Acre farm 40 miles south of the Canadian boarder in Maine, we are part time farmers no animals, started a small garden this year, have done some canning but looking forward to really getting into it this fall. Have a # of apple trees on property, and a stream running thru. I sew, paint, enjoy crafting, and pricked up soldering this spring.
