                      | Last year we had some GREAT challenges for cleaning up. Each day I will post a new challenge, feel free to jump in at any time, then at the end of the day or at the start of the next day, come back and let us know how the challenge went for you!
Today we are going to start out in the with our main Junk Drawer. Some of us have more than one junk drawer, so lets pick the messiest and clean it out. Get it as organized as is possible, wipe out any crumbs or messes that might be at the bottom etc. If you have time and more than one junk drawer tackle another for extra brownie points!

                      | Check done I even went so far as to organize the miss nuts and bolts that I have in there by size.

                      | My junk drawer is a really skinny one by the sink. I got it done real quick. I even straightened up all my utensil drawers too!

                      | Great Job ladies! I need to go home and do this straight away. Last night I was looking for a screw in our junk draw and I realized how out of control it is.
If you want a bonus challenge, and one that can aid in getting a Merit Badge- Clean out your cupboard that has all your extra lids for food storage containers and make sure you are only keeping lids that have matching containers.

                      | Well at our house Dumplin does all the straightening of drawers and ours were done recently so I guess were ahead of the game. Only problem is she takes out everything she thinks needs to be someplace else and puts it in a bag for me to sort. lol Gotta love her though for at least taking the time to clean them. She is 19 going on 20 in Nov. My one and only child DD.

                      | I did the tupperware and pots and pans cupboards last week. I also used a labelin machine my DH picked up for me at goodwill and labeled all the cabinets for food and rowed up my can goods. Then I labeled all the storage containers as well. That has helped a lot.

                      | Here's our Saturday Challenge!
Wipe down the fronts of your kitchen cupboards.

Bonus Challenge- Vacuum under your refrigerator by pulling the vent/grill off the front. If you feel safe doing so or have help, try pulling your fridge forward and wipe down the wall and floor that are behind/underneath the fridge. It gets scary back there due to the way refrigerators work. Be safe though! Please don't get hurt!

                      | Alee, since it is raining out AGAIN, I will take you up on that challenge. Wiping down the cupbourds and pulling out the fridge to vacuum and wash down the wall. How about Double Bonus round of wiping out the inside of the frigde too!
Age only matters if you are wine or cheese.

                      | Optional Sunday Challenge- Organize and clean off a book shelf! Some of us only have one and some of us have a mini library. But either way the bookshelves often collect dust and sometimes other non-book items. Let's pick the worst one and clean off that bookshelf and organize it. Make sure to take off each book, dust it and dust it's shelf space!

                      | Alee, what a great fun way to encourage us to clean up. I'll try to stay caught up with you, but my work days of 10 hours for four days make for some long days -- may have to catch up on weekends. Suzanne |

                      | I wish I would have taken before and after pictures to post. But, my DD just cleaned the bookcase in my sewing/craft area. It looks great. I have a buffet next to that and she organized it too. It is full of all my fabric and sewing supplies. Then I have the computer next to that on the joining wall and a huge bookcase next to it full of our scrapbook/cardmaking supplies. The only thing we didn't do was a cart that sits in front of the bookcase. I'll tackle that this week. One shelf at a time.
In her room, she just installed a new shelf for all her books. And cleaned her room from top to bottom. She is my clean freak. Get's it from my side of the family. lol

                      | I have a whole bookcase done! I have 6 bookcases, so one is all I have time for right now, but maybe I can get the girls to do the others for a batch of cookies. They did the cabinet wipe down for me for a candy bar yesterday.

                      | Hi, I did the little "bookshelf" on my sewing/office table. Then I did a bit more with the office part of the table. The table is a family heirloom from my grandfather who was a minister and wrote sermons on it at one time. So I have a much nicer work space thanks to this challenge. Suzanne |

                      | Awesome Suzanne! I have been fighting a literal mountain of dirty laundry this morning (now only 2 loads left to wash!!) So I haven't gotten around to the bookshelf yet, but it is certainly calling my name loud and clear! Yikes what a mess! And it's in my living room too, so it becomes a bit of a catch-all. I am certainly looking forward to that being cleaned up and nicer looking again!

                      | Done. I had piled up some clothes on top of my dresser; it's in the closet. Some I put away; I matched up the socks; and I put a blouse and vest in the quilting material pile. I hope to make some doll clothes from the blouse material. Suzanne |

                      | Mine was cleaned and dusted on Friday. But, talk about laundry that needs to be folded and put away, yikes! Little bits at a time, here. I wash it all and then my DD folds and puts it in our room. Then, when I get some energy from what little bit I can do I put it away, bit by bit. Right now I'm working out a deal for her to help me.

                      | Done! My dresser holds my tv for the bedroom, so not much else can fit on it. I also did the tv top in BR and LR.
