When we bought this old farm house, the last owner put on an addition, putting in a master bathroom with a used jet tub. The jets are not working well. Any ideas on how to clean them with natural products?
Our plan is to remove the jet tub and put in a claw foot tub in the future. However, right now I'm just trying to keep it working.
I would fill it up and put a gallon of vinegar in the water and then turn it on full blast and let it cycle. I know I have seen the ladies BBC clean jetted tubs before and it's always SOOO gross! Plus the vinegar should help break up some of the calcium deposits. I also think that some automatic dishwasher detergent (commercial) would help too. Or some of those dishwasher cleaners.
I have used a gallon of vinegar, but it still didn't clean out the other jets. I wonder if the well water has caused a build up inside? I'll have to try some other solutions. Thanks!
I just did mine and I used about a cup of dishwasher soap and a cup of bleach. I filled the tub with lukewarm water and just let it bubble away.
NOT at all "natural" - - but cleaned them wonderfully - they work like a charm. I usually use baking soda and vinegar and other safer things - but they just didn't cut it with the jets.
