Well...I am headed over to Dr. Beth's this afternoon for more tests. I am feeling so much better than I did on Thursday with just a faint hint of deep pain, and still very tired but nothing like before.

Thank you girls for all the kind words and prayers-
My cup runneth over!!

What a morning! I woke up with an excruciating pain under my left shoulder blade with shortness of breath and my left arm was numb. I tried taking a couple of acetaminophen but by 11:00 decided to drive to my clinic. First thing after stats were recorded they did an EKG and then my doctor reviewed the results with another doctor at the clinic. An ambulance was called-They were thinking a possible heart attack. So off to the ER via ambulance-lights blazing and me hyperventilating. EKG again, CT scan, chest x-rays and blood workup. Diagnosis---Pleurisy! No heart attack-I am so thankful! Dr. said that it might be Lupus-my younger sister has Lupus and sometimes it manifests into pleurisy among other things. The pain was unbeleivable. After a couple of doses of Dilaudid they asked if I would like to stay the night or leave. I opted for home! So, they sent me home with Vicodin and instructions and I am to see my doctor next week for more tests-Thank you girlfriends for letting me share-It was a pretty scary day for me and my family-especially my DD who is of the tender age of 17. One of the nurses at my clinic actually drove to my house to wake Nan up and tell her what was going on. Bruce and Elli were in Green Bay about 45-minutes from here and Nan had to get a hold of them as well.

I am headed for bed to sleep some of the Dilaudid off and I have my trusty flax/lavender pillow... nice and warm to snuggle next to.

I will keep you up-dated!!

Oh Melody you poor thing! I hope when you wake up you are feeling much better.
I had pleurisy a couple of years ago, and thought the same thing- heart attack. The pain was so bad, that I was coughing because I couldn't(wouldn't) take deep breaths. My dad(physician) made me go to the ER because sometimes blood clots can cause pleurisy. Sometimes, though, it just happens. My son in law had it in March, he's 27 and healthy as a horse.
Anyway- you take it easy, you'll be sore for a couple of days, make everyone wait on you!

Melody I had a very similar experience with Pleurisy a few years ago, and it is scarey. We thought it had cleared up and a few weeks later I was back in the ER so take it very easy and give your body lots and lots of time to heal.

Well thank God it wasn't a heart attack! I'm sorry you were in so much pain--I hate to see people in pain (and I work at a hospital). Take it easy and as CJ said, go easy on the pain meds. Prayin' for ya!

Thank you ladies!!

I am feeling much better today-weak with still sharp pains in my left lower scapula upon inspiration or twisting in a certain way-but I am not "panting" or gasping for breath like I was at the beginning. I will see my regular doctor on Monday morning for more tests. I will rest for the remainder of the weekend, but I think my career with the auction company will be on hold for a month or two for now-

I appreciate all the prayers and good wishes...warms my heart and makes me smile-

Awwwwww, Melody, I sure hope you heal fast. How miserable is it to be(down) in Summer. Of course with the heat and humidity we've been having, none of us are really "Skip-to-my-Louing!"lol Take care. We Love Ya! You will be added to my Prayer list.
