Hi there,
I have already come to love this forum. My name is Fawn and I am married to Russell. We have four children (Victoria, Oliver, Alexander, and Elizabeth). We home school Alex and Lizzy. We have 92 acres in the beautiful hills of West Virginia. We are raising dairy goats, chickens, ducks, turkeys, dogs, cats, 1 butchering hog and a steer plus the kids I am originally from Maryland and married this country man...who then planted me smack dab in the middle of the country (He is wonderful). I hope to meet great people and build lasting friendships. I hope to continue to learn new things..as I am green to alot about farming. Thanks for having me here and I look forward to meeting you all!!!

Welcome, Fawn! This is such a great place to be. Your farm sounds wonderful. West VA is a gorgeous state! My mother was from there; Wheeling. We had a family reunion one summer in Canaan Valley, where the land just made me awestruck with God's work. What part of Maryland do you come from? Again, glad to meet ya!

Ann,

I live about 15 to 20 minutes from Canaan Valley. I take the kids snowboarding and tubing there often. I originally was in Baltimore County...my family members live in Wicomico County ..Salisbury area. I have been in WV for 14 years now but go home often to visit family.
Thank you all for the warm welcome. I am so glad to be here.

Fawn

Oh, Fawn!!! I'm about 5 miles from Salisbury! I must say, you sure moved to pretty country there! I remember walking along the roads with my husband, looking at the beautiful farms. Rolling hills and wow... You and Russell and children really are living the "good life".

Hello Fawn,
I am new as well and look forward to learning a lot , too. I grew up around farming but there is always new stuff to learn about or old stuff you learn to do different. That is what makes it so wonderful. I am one state over in Virginia on twenty acres that we are building into a working organic farm. Look forward to hearing more about your farm, it sounds beautiful.
