Hi! I wanted to introduce myself. I'm Heather and I'm from GA (as you can see from my username ). I have dreamed of having a small hobby farm for a while now and it looks like it may be coming true sooner than I thought ! So I found the Farmgirl Connection and thought I would join in.
I am very excited as my husband and I are working toward our goal of having some land and a few animals. A friend recently told me that while I was waiting to go ahead and do the farmgirl things that I would be doing ... gardening, canning, sewing, soap-making, etc. So that's what I doing ... pretending I am already there.
Oh, and one more thing ... I want a screen door that slams so my husband is buying me one for the back door ... I can see and hear the wonderful sounds and visions of children running in and out that door
Blessings to all!

Welcome Heather!! Boy..you sound like one of us already. I have one of those slamming screeen doors and I agree...it is part of farmgirl life. Sounds like you are doing just the right thing...doing all you can to "bloom where you are planted". Perfect! It will be fun to hear more about you!!

Welcome, Heather! You know, now that I think of it, THAT'S what my farmhouse is lacking - a slamming screen door! Please - let us know what kind you and your husband find! You're going to love these gals...

Thanks so much for the warm welcome I found Mary Jane's book at the library and I have been busy eating it all up ... such good stuff! I also was inspired to begin keeping a "farm dream file" with pictures and articles. My DH just smiles ... he wants it as bad as I do, but I tend to be a bit obsessive
Blessings to all!

Heather that is so funny about the slamming screen door. That's what I asked my husband for just a few months ago. I want to design it so we can get it up before my inlaws come to visit in July.
I have the best memories of running out of the kitchen door at my Grams and the door slamming behind me.
So, welcome to MJF. Oh by the way I love your name, it's my favorite that's the name I gave my sweet daughter 16 1/2 years ago.
