God bless all veterans, past and present! Their unselfish sacrifice to protect our freedoms is most honorable. A personal thank you to my DH and my SIL, both Iraq War Vets. May we say a prayer to the fallen soldiers and their families, they gave the most precious gift defending this great country. All gave some...Some gave all.

Age only matters if you are wine or cheese.

My stepfather served in WW II in the South Seas, my brother (who is not well now due to Agent Orange) served in Viet Nam, I served in the US Navy prior to Viet Nam, and my son is now serving in the US Air Force Reserve. We are a well veteraned family.

I honor them all for serving in these dangerous times.

I have a Memorial day tribute on my smallcityscenes blog.

Remember when it was called DECORATION DAY?

Yes, I do remember it being called Decoration Day and my family still calls it that when we talk. And many of us use that day to go to the cemeteries and decorate our family graves for the summer.

Nice tribute to our country! Loved looking at your blog.

Two of my sons have served and one is currently in Afghanistan on his 3rd tour. Thanks to all who are serving right now and to all those who have served and have gone on to glory. I remember it being called decoration day...We were just talking about that yesterday.
