I went early this morning to our lacal FM and got all kinds of goodies. The best thing I found was 1 bunch of rhubarb!!!! I am so excited about finding that. Now I can make a rhubarb crisp. Also got some sweet onions and purple onions, a cabbage, some lettuce, kale collards, beets and baby squash. Oh and 4 bunches of reddish carrots! And also got a small pound cake and 2 thornless blackberry plants.
I am making dinner tomorrow with al local foods. And my grass fed beef roast. And collard greens and squash and the rhubarb pie or crisp and pound cake with my strawberries for dessert. Oh I can hardly wait.
So what are ya'll finding right now at your Farmer's markets? And what's for dinner?
Kris

Sounds good Kris! Ours doesn't open for another couple of weeks. We have a very short growing season here in SW Colorado. We usually don't start our garden until after Memorial Day because of chance of frost :( I want to hear about everyone elses goodies :)

I have never been to a farmers market. I do buy from stands along side the road tho. Most of the stands around here just have an honor system.

I sell eggs and herbs at my local FM. In addition to what I had today there was new potatoes, radishes, onions, yellow squash, zuchinni, cucumbers, several lettucevarieties, cabbage, snow peas, beets, strawberries, strawberry vinegrette, beefalo, pastured pork, pastured chicken, sh**ake mushroom, lemon squash, milk, cheese and probably something else that I am missing!

We are still in the winter/cool weather mode here. Mostly there are greens, onions, radishes, turnips, beets and starter plants at the Farmers Market. Oh yeah, and EGGS! I think everyone in Cochise County has chickens this year or their neighbor has chickens! Since I don't quite have produce to take to sell yet, I have been taking some layered soup mixes done up in canning jars and baking mixes like Jalapeno Cornbread and Country Herb Beer Bread. I took samples of the Country Herb Beer Bread this past Saturday and extra of the mixes and sold them all! Samples sell! I also have eggs and some starter plants and I am taking orders for my homemade yeast breads and goat cheese.
