I am selling my 2 does, and the lady wants to keep them in electric fencing. I told her I wasn't sure that it would keep them in. I have never kept mine in electric fencing. I need to hear from you gals. What do you think??
I did not have electric fencing, but I sure wish I would have. I can only say that virtually all of the major 'goat people' here keep theirs in several (!!!) strands of electric fencing. :0)
We kept our goats in electric net fencing. Goats need a high voltage. It was good at keeping them in until the goats in until our pig (who though she was a goat) said goodbye and the goats then decided to hop the fence. Noreen in VT

I have it in the back. It does keep mine in. It just takes one goat to get bit and the rest stay away. I just have 3 strands back there and I like it. Even when it's off they still don't go near it. It's the other fences I have trouble with.
I'm building a goat fence right now-I'm planning on 5" of no-climb wire, boards on top and bottom, and electric fence at the top and bottom outside to keep coyotes/bobcats/bears etc. out. Do you goat people think that will work? Also, the posts are 4x4 pressure treated lumber-do you think that will be OK?
