I haven't been on MJ in awhile because life is crazy. I have four boys and the youngest is special needs. He has really become difficult lately and is making life fairly miserable for the rest of the family. We cannot even go to church together any longer. Family vacations are out and even going to someones house is usually more stress than I can take. On top of everything else dh and I are fighting all the time, no one in the house picks up after them selves (including dh) and I am exhausted. My best friend moved to England last month and my family lives 800 miles away.
I am very depressed, sad and lonely. I have nothing left to give as my batteries are empty. I really need to recharge but cannot get a girls night out because I have no "girls". I wish I knew someone with a farm so I could visit for the weekend but I don't.
Thanks for listening to me whine!

Been there. Done that. I am sorry you are feeling lonely and worn out. I will say a prayer for you! Try to take a few moments for yourself today. Even if it is hiding in the bathroom!!! Being a mom can certainly have it's dose of "those days."

Hugs

Kathryn....

Sorry to hear that your batteries are low.

My advice is simple; you need to get outside. You need to feel the breeze on your face and soak in some sunshine. You will be amazed how much better you feel.

I suffer from cyclic depression-Winters are harsh here and sunshine dear. I get through it knowing that spring will surely follow just as it has since time began.

So...put your shoes on, step outside, and BREATHE.

Katheryn, I am going to be getting my little house fixed up for a B&B soon. You aren't too far away from Chatt. are you? Maybe you could come here for a weekend. I would love to have you. I have lots of critters and gardens. And it is SO quiet here. It would be a great place for you to come. You could come now if you wanted to. The house is ok and has a bed and bathroom. Come on down!. Really. Just email me if you can.

You gals......The posts brought tears to my eyes. CJ I wish I were closer because I am a native of CO. I actually was supposed to be there next weekend but I won't now (VERY long story). Kris I will totally take you up on that soon. Really. Quiet, critters, and gardens sound soul-mending. I was germinating some seeds to plant my first garden but youngest son tossed them all off the balcony. Oh well. Melody and Angie I think I have seasonal depression too and today is just a gray, wet, yucky day. Not helping!

Thank you all SO much...really. From the bottom of my heart I thank you for taking the few minutes to simply type a reply. It made my day much sunnier.

Love, Kathryn

Kathryn, I just re-read a chapter in MaryJane's book-unleashing your inner wild. The story is of MJ when she was a single mom and feeling overwhelmed. It was winter, but she just had the urge to sleep outside. She got a pillow and sleeping bag and slept under her children's window. After breathing the air and looking at the billions of stars and the moon, she decided that her problems were not so big. You need to unleash your inner wild...sleep outside, take a long walk, breath the air. Maybe that will help recharge your batteries. In the meantime, we are here for you.

Why not go out on a limb, that's where all the fruit is! "Mark Twain"

Kathryn: My heart goes out to you. I, too, will keep you in my prayers. I agree about getting outside, the sunshine will do you good. Hugs.

Oh..sending a big farmgirl <H U G> your way. It is easy to get overwhelmed with all that you have on your plate. Make some time for yourself SOMEHOW. Even if it is late at night when everyone else is in bed. Read a magazine, drink some tea, and let some of your house work duties go. Hope you feel better soon!

Kathryn, I'm thinking of you too and wishing you the very best. Like you, I don't have any girlfriends and I dearly would love the comfort and fun that a good friendship brings. But's that why I am part of the MJF community - I get to talk with my girlfriends from all over the country! Just know that you have folks from every corner of the country pulling for you.

You need some "me time" - tell your husband you need an hour or two to be alone and recharge. Go to the library, take a walk, go see a movie, whatever makes you feel better. My grandmother, who has alzheimer's, lived with us for awhile and I know very well that feeling of not being able to go anywhere, of feeling trapped in your life. The only thing that helped me was periodic short breaks out of the house or working in the garden. Just something to give me back a little of my energy.

Sending a great big farmgirl hug your way - Kimberly

Kathryn,
Sending you a big farmgirl hug and sisterly love from Florida. I will email you. I'd like to talk more to cheer you up. When you are feeling like your life is a tunnel of problems don't dispair, God's word can carry you through if you know the ones that can bring you comfort. I do. HOLD ON! All these suggestions will help you get your strength back. Put them into action.

Seriously you gals are awesome! I have felt better (not great) the past couple of days. I really need some sun rather than this gloomy, rainy, gray weather. I know it is good for my tiny garden but not great for me. I think I am going to get away somewhere in the next couple of weeks--maybe Kristins??? Just having people who understand or at least empathize is so helpful and those who have reached out--a heartfelt thank you.

Kathryn, come on. Just let me know when. It's been beautiful here this week. Perfect weather in the 70's. I know that will change fast enough, but I am really enjoying it right now. I am glad you are feeling a little better. And I love Megan's blog. She writes so good and is so funny.

Prayers sent and hugs offered. I have a little one with special needs and sometimes life is just hard. I wouldnt trade my life or my son for the world. Its just how it is. Do you have any time for you to get out for yourself, to maybe see a movie or have coffee and read a book? That helps. I hope you find some peace soon.

I got it today!!!! That is one on the sweetest things I have ever received. I took a picture and will upload it as soon as I find the cable. For everyone else--I open my mailbox and there is a package. I opened it and found a card and bright pink tissue paper tied up. Inside was a lovely book with yummy recipes and great little stories about tea. About tea you say? Why yes because there were also tea lights (for a long soak perhaps?), several packets of herbal tea and a little packet of chocolates that I promptly hid from the kids.
SO SWEET!!!
