Is the cooked wheat anything like steel cut oats? They are very hearty. Steel cut oats are just the whole oat thats cut up a little bit. I mix in dried cranberries, pecans, nutmeg, cinnamon and slow cook until oats are done. Add milk and a little organic sugar......its really good. Some mornings I have eggs and turkey bacon with homemade wheat toast. Once in awhile whole wheat pancakes.
