Beth, I am making your honeyed beets today for dinner. I tasted them and they are good. I went to the farmer's market yesterday and found fresh beets and I used local honey and my apple cider from my trees. I am making all local dinner today. My kitchen smells SO GOOD right now! I can hardly wait. I have already tried the strawberry rhubarb crisp and it's good. And the slaw.

I can't wait to get more recipes. This is fun. Mine will go out Tuesday.

I received wonderful recipes today from Teresa, Luanne, Judy, and Beth. Thank you ladies!
It seems that my printer is out of ink, so we'll see how many I can get done by hand and in the mail tomorrow. The others will have to wait for the weekend. :)

WhooHoooooooo....Amish recipes today from Diana W...I will try them all and I loved your note after the Amish Church Cookies recipe!!! Funny!!! I'm always looking for new Pound Cake recipes and the Canning Apples recipe is exactly what I need for Fall, as I always end up with tons of apples!

Also from my dear friend Luanne....A Recipe For Friendship is my MOST favorite, Luanne!!! I loved the pictures with each recipe and I will be trying all of yours too. The ham loaf sounds delicious for a nice Fall day!!!

And I also rec'd from Beth Jones!! Thank you Beth for your handwritten recipes on such sweet note pad pages!! I will try the beets right away! Sounds like many of the girls have already tried them!! Yummmmmm! Love the Baked Apples recipe and also the Maple Mustard Pork Chops!!! Can't wait to have an Amish Recipe cooking day!!! Thank you to all of you!!! Hugs and Smiles, Lin

Channah, thank you again for your hard work on this!! What a super idea and I think we've all enjoyed it so much!! What a fun fun time!!!

Judy L., I made the biscuits this morning and boy are they good! I usually make them with SR flour. lard and buttermilk but was out of SR flour. So I made them using the recipe you sent. They are nice and soft and flaky and so good. I think I will try them next time using my whole wheat flour and see how that works. So thamks again, Judy.

So far I have made the beets and the biscuits. Wonder what will be next? This is so fun.

I just received some great sounding recipes from Kris and Susan! Thanks gals - Going to pass a couple of these off to my neighbor ( the cereal) and one to my sister - the rhubarb one! She has a lovely "patch" of it in her garden in Scituate, MA.

Yes....Thanx Luanne for the Friendship poem and Kitchen prayer. Also recieved Judy, Diana and Beth's recipes. Now I just need to get my AC checked....cause it's a bit warm to turn my oven on at the moment and no relief in sight. ;) Just reading the recipes make my mouth water! And they are all so different. How neat is that?

My best to all,
Mel
