With all of this enthusiastic wild violet and dandelion talk, it occurred to me that I really didn't know which flowers were edible and which were not. So here ya go! I found a pretty extensive list of edible flowers and a list of poisonous ones. Flower jellies are are so appropriate for spring and for good old fashioned tea parties!.

I'm gonna have a pantry full of pretty jellies this summer!

Rats. Just got home and my sweet husband is out cutting the grass. There goes the violets and the dandelions...will have to wait for roses to bloom now so I can make more jelly.

Thank you so much Annika. I am going to try the butter and the rose jelly when I actually have some roses bloom. I am still hunting for the wild violets.

Great link, Annika. I might try their jelly recipe, too.

As an aside, I found out that I was allergic to nasturtiums by eating them in a salad...so do use caution!!! I haven't had a reaction to violets or dandelions :)
