My middle name is Marlene but on my birth certificate it is/was misspelled Marline; never had it officially changed and I always write Marlene on any official document. It's never been a problem and noone has made a deal about it.

Mine is Ann too and I was born in the early 60s. I also gave my daughter the middle name too. Her name is Chelsey Ann.

Annika - you make me think of 'hair' with your comment about wishing you had a more common middle name :-) All thru school I wanted names with more flair if you can believe it :-) If your hair is straight you want it to be curly and vice versa. Silly little things that make us smile!!

Mine is also Marie. The name goes back several generations on both sides of my family, Cherokee and Norwegian. What a combination!

Having been raised Catholic, my middle name is Marie. It's derived from the Virgin Mary. Apparently back in the 60's parents were supposed to give at least one church-related name to their children. My parents observed that rule until my youngest brother was born in 1966. He ended up with a name that didn't have anything to do with the church. I like my middle name, it sort of grounds me, if that makes sense. I've never really felt like a Cindy.

Mine is Kathleen. Megan Kathleen. It is my Nana's middle name, and it was her mother's middle name. It skipped a generation with my aunt, but I think I'm going to have my daughter's middle name be Kathleen. God's Blessings, Megan aka Loretta Rae

I like my middle name better than my first because Elizabeth is very common... my middle name is Janeane... Elizabeth Janeane.

Mine is Carol, after an aunt. I laughed when I read Delicia's post because where I'm from when you're called by first and middle names, it meant you were in trouble.

Mine is Lynn. No reason, just 'Lynn'. Never have like it. Oddly, my dh has the same middle name, though. Never had heard of that for a guy before.

Annika, I love your middle name...especially, that it means Violet!
I was named after two men (Jonni--"john-ee) and my middle name is Carroll, after my godfather. He was my father's mentor at the racetrack, and since my dad's family had abandoned him when he was 2, this man saw that my dad was a bit of a rounder and put his head into something more constructive. His last name was Burns, and as everyone in the 1940's and 50's had nicknames, he was no different. I called him Uncle Burnsie :)

Michele. My Mom liked the Beatles song. Sorry, but I hate the song. Amy came from a Pure Prarie League song. I don't mind that one so much.
Have a blessed day.
