Family Matters:  My Dad passed this morning  |

Those of you that know me best, know that both my parents moved in with me and my hubby last September. They had been getting along very well. My Dad had a kidney issue that required a hospital stay. Well, while in the hospital he got out of bed and fell. He hit his head, arm, hip and leg. He never recovered. They kept him a month in the hospital and then sent him to a nursing home. He was at the nursing home for a little over a month before he passed this morning.
I know he was a man of great faith and that he is in a better place, but it still hurts to know I can't see or hear his voice when I want.

Oh Gena *hug* I'm so terribly sorry. I know exactly what you mean. I still hear my mama and my grandparents in my dreams, and they've been many years gone. My god bless and comfort you. I am again, so terribly sorry to have you lose your father.

I am new here, don't think we've ever crossed paths, but felt so sad to read your post about your father. I am so sorry. My deepest condolences to you and your family. You sound like a wonderful daughter to your parents. Hugs to you.

Gena--I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. Yes, he is in a better place but that doesn't lessen the pain you feel. I'm glad you feel free to share this with us--sending you a big farmgirl (((hug)))

Gena I'm sorry so to hear about the passing of your father. It is very hard! My father left us 3 yrs ago and sweetie theres still times when I miss him dearly. Just little things will bring the tears. But shed those tears, because you need to and the memories are priceless. You and your family are in my prayers.

Gena, I am so sorry to hear the news of your dad's death. It seems a senseless thing to have happened to him. Going in to the hospital for a kidney something or other and then boom! Life is so fragile sometimes. The mystery of it all makes me reel at moments like this. I am holding you and your family close and in the light. ~julia hayes

Gena, my thoughts and prayers are with you tonight and in the days to come. It is so hard to lose one of our parents, but let your faith will help you through this hard time. Having your mother with you at this time will be so important, too, for both of you. Knowing they were welcome in your home has to have been a comfort to your mother.

Mary Beth, that is so funny you said that about the stars.
I went out last night and looked up at all the beautiful stars. And I talked to Daddy. It just seemed I could be close to him there.

Gena, praying for you and your family. When our parents start passing, all of a sudden we are truly grown ups. I lost my Dad suddenly 6 years ago and it has been the hardest on my Mom. It sounds like you are a very close family so always remember the good times and the wonderful father that he surely was. May he rest in peace.
