LOL haven't even gotten them back and I am ready for another round! I think I prefer a smaller block, say 8-10", but personally I just go with the flow and anything works for me! I like the flowers but I like stars even more :) And yes I love Heather's idea of swapping a fat quarter as well!

Any size works for me! I prefer stars but will do whatever the group decides. Looking forward to getting my blocks and getting my quilt underway. Now comes the hard part deciding on how to set them!

I recieved my blocks today.
Girls they are lovely! I can't wait to decide on a sashing color to add to the blocks. Not sure what color yet.
I would love to do the next swap with a fat quarter included. I like the size we just completed.
I do have one question on my red and white squares. I received two of my own back. Was I suppose to?

Sorry to say but we had two sisters drop out from the swap. That is why everyone received their blocks back. Glad to hear that three of you have received your blocks. I took my blocks to my quild luncheon - I was so proud of all of you!! I explained to everyone how the blocks came from all over the US. I hope that everyone liked the extra farmgirl fabric. I tried to find it in red but all they had was the green. If someone posts pictures let us know. We have a young quilter from Japan in our group, I think that she was the most impressed regarding our swap. Thanks again for a great swap. Keep talking about our next swap, Barbara

Barbara:
Thank you again for all your hard work. I like all the blocks - thank you Farmgirls. Barb - I love the farmgirl block. I think I might use that on aa label on the back and put every ones names and states. I have not thought what I am going to use - but I think I will try to get it done so I can take for "Show and Tell" to my Thimble berries Club" next month.
If you have another block exchange - count me in.

Glad to hear that everyone likes their blocks:) I found the fabric in Paducha during the quilt show. It was funny I did not realize that it was a Mary Jane Farms print until after I made the purchase. Vi I hope that your quilt group likes the blocks as much as mine did!! Have fun putting it together. I will keep in mind everyone that is interested for our next swap. I'm thinking stars, primative scrappy fabric colors, and size 10 inches. How does that sound? Barbara

Primative colors are country colors, Thimbleberry fabrics, muted reds and blues, civil war reproduction prints, Little Quilts (shop in Atlanta) colors, homespuns, Americana type fabrics..... hope this helps? You can google primative fabrics under images and then you can see all different kinds of fabrics. Remember if everyone makes scrappy then all of our blocks will go together. What do you thing? I recieved my batch of blocks from the second group! Thank you to everyone. I can't wait to get started on my quilt.
I like the scrappy color blocks for the next one, 10 inch is good too. Have we decided on if anyone is interested in the fat quarter exchange along with the blocks?

Ah, I got my blocks today and they are all so pretty!!! They are all laid out on my bed, I keep rearranging them to see how I want to assemble them LOL. My couch is a futon, and I learned years ago that a fitted sheet is way cheaper than a futon cover, and fits just as well. They also make for quick and easy new decor options! The sheet on there right now is red gingham and I think the finished quilt would be perfect hanging over the bed on the wall.....so I might do that but I sort of want to make a bed quilt too....decisions, decisions!
Barbara, thank you so much for hosting this swap! And thank you for the lovely farmgirl block, she's adorable!

Okay quilt block swappers, I am posting a new swap. Look for the "Primative Star" swap. I have been putting my blocks together between chasing and caring for the puppy. I have it 1/2 way done. Will post when pieced - if I wait till 100% completed we all might be waitng awhile:) Barbara

I've been out of town - just arrived home to find the quilt blocks in the mail...I was soo excited; after opening the envelope, I am soo disappointed! I received 8 blocks from others and 3 of my own - instructions state "11 to swap and one to keep". Of the 8, 4 (I won't mention names) are not worthy of working into a quilt (points are supposed to match! and a 4 patch, really?) I expected more of MJF gals - I guess my standards are just too high. Won't do this again!!! Thank you to the 4 beautiful, well-made block...I appreciate your quality!

Anna, This swap was open to all, that means all different levels of quilting abilities. Correct me if I'm wrong but MJF Farmgirls should be kind and nurturing. Your words were hurtful to those who tried to the best of thier ability. Perhaps a quick thank you and a personal (to yourself) note that you wouldnt participate would have been more appropiate. Sorry your dissapointed, better luck next time.

Check out the Forum Thread titled "Red quilt squares picture". This is a quilt top contructed from the first group of red and white block swappers. Not all blocks were perfect but were still used by a creative quilter. She adapted and used all FG sisiter blocks and I think it came out lovely! The charm of a group quilt is the diversity of blocks/participants. Making do and making the most of what you have is a true skill.
I would like to Thank everyone once again for the blocks I recieved. I am proud to have them and use them in my next quilt.
