If my washer had a butt, my foot would be in it! It does not want to wring the clothes out today. And the worst part about it is it's only about a year old. At least it's still under warranty.

The kids and I have been yardsaling today. We went to 4 sales and then made a stop at Goodwill before going to eat a bite of lunch. Then we stopped to visit "the cousins" (my sister's kiddos). They also refer to my three as "the cousins". LOL My mom watches my nieces and nephew while my sister is working. I found a couple of really cool things.

For the rest of the day we have:
laundry to finish if we can make the washer work
honeysuckle jelly to make this is done. i hope it turns out.
and maybe a little crafting

My trip to Chicago was so much fun! We got to try some really yummy food and I did a little shopping too! It's good to be home now though. I spent ALL DAY in my garden today! It felt so good and I'm getting a little closer to done with the initial planting of things and more into the tending part. Going to church tomorrow and then coming home to relax with the family. Probably won't do much as far a chores go. Maybe some laundry so I can get ahead on the week LOL!

Today:
A day off work! YAY!!!

1. grocery shopping done
2. trip to the post office done
3. a few loads of laundry as long as the washer works [crossing fingers] glad i took some to think about this washer problem before dragging it all the way out. did you know that if your washer gets pushed back too close to the wall it will cause the drain hose to kink and your washer to act all screwy? hmmmm so far seems to be working. praying this is the solution. ;)
4. maybe make another batch of honeysuckle jelly done. this batch only made three jars. i burnt myself and made an awful mess of the stove. oh well all cleaned up now.
5. thin out some of my junk wondering why do i collect so much junk? contemplating becoming a minimalist.
6. clean the living room again wondering why i have so much junk
7. Take Caitie to her band rehersal this evening.done Concert is tomorrow!!

I'm off work today too but I don't think the house is going to get the benefit - I have to drive my son into town for a dentist appt. and then I told him we could shop for some summer clothes. I'm pretty lucky with him, he is very low-maintenance as far as clothes go, but I guess once a year you have to do it:) I'm hoping to get back in time to do some weeding and planting, it is supposed to rain tomorrow so it would be the perfect day for it.

Melanie in Indiana - you are too funny. I don't usually "LOL" while reading posts, even if they are amusing, but "if my washer had a butt..." LOL!

Today's list:
1. Dishes
2. Laundry
3. Pry children away from television
4. Farmgirl skirt
5. Knit
6. Make bread
7. Clean kitchen floor
8. Clean main bathroom
9. Water garden
10. Weed and dig south garden bed. (Only managed a little bit of this one!)

More than enough, I think.

Amy,
That is great that you don't have to get a lot for your son.
I haven't HAD to buy clothes for my son in years. He has friends who are always giving him some really nice stuff. The only things I buy for him in clothing are usually gifts now. I'm very grateful too!

Whoa, Sharon - that's a pretty impressive list, too!

Melanie - I'm working on breaking the tv habit...thing is, it's MY habit, too. I can get more done and spend more time on the 'puter if they're glued to the tube. They only watch PBS and approved DVDs/tapes, but way more than enough. We were better about it when there was only the Girl. The only tv she saw until she was 2 was "This Old House" and "New Yankee Workshop." We got hysterical when she pretended that her foam Noah's ark toy was a "router"; after buzzing around our coffee table with it, she rubbed her little hand across the corner and said, "Now that's a good edge!"

Welcome home, Siobhan!

Today:
1. Laundry
2. Soak beans for dinnerActually just decided to make something else tonight.
3. Water
4. Weed and dig south garden bed
5. get zyrtec for everyone in the family (ugh) Everybody but DS, that is; he's too young for zyrtec.
6. Iron new fabric and DH's shirts
7. Farmgirl skirt
8. Mending
9. Knit

Enough!

Sharon~ So far the washer seems to be fixed. Just keep it away from the wall so the drain hose doesn't kink. I think it will be fine.
The honeysuckle jelly is YUM-MY! I had never tried it before. From the buzz here at the farm I made violet jelly a month or so ago. Then my youngest came to me the other night and asked if I could make honeysuckle jelly. I told her I didn't know but I would look and see what I could find out. Sure enough I came across a recipe online that was pretty similar to Prairie Land Herb's recipe for violet jelly, so I used her recipe and substituted 2 cups of honeysuckle for 2 cups of violets. And it tastes like honeysuckle but sweeter cause of all the sugar that goes in it. My girls say it's too sweet, but I think it's yummy on a peanut butter sandwich.

Melissa~ That is too cute about your daughter! When I was her age, I was hooked on the Peggy Mitchell Show and Lawrence Welk. My mom thought I was the strangest child. My worst thing is the computer. I'm not much of a tv watcher but I can get absorbed in the computer something awful. It's a hard habit to break. My guy is even worse than the kids on the tv thing. And what is it with guys? They can't watch one program all the way through. It's like they have to constantly flip the channel. And he wonders why I don't like to watch tv with him.

Today....

So far I have been to clean at the apartments, stopped in at the goodwill and visited my mom.

I still need to finish the laundry. Caitie's band concert is this evening. This is at least a two-hour event. It's the last concert of the school year, so we will have the 6th grade band, 7th & 8th grade band (Caitie's) and the high school band playing. The high school band also has a percussion ensemble that will play a few pieces and a jazz ensemble that will do the same and of course the band director thinks we must hear the same speech at every single concert there is. He just does more of it during this one. I won't get much done this evening, but at least I'll get to hear my daughter play. She has gotten so much better since the begining of the school year.

Melanie~ I had a good day off yesterday. I got a lot done.
I went to my w/w meeting this morning. So I got motivated there for the week, I hope.
Have today and tomorrow off then it's back to work for 3 days.
Working on the stuff I didn't get finished yesterday. Most of it is done now.
Might even get some sewing done if I'm lucky. Either this evening or tomorrow.

Today I had to tackle the house. It needing vacuuming in a bad way from me working on the irrigation and in the yard and getting lazy about taking off my shoes. (bad me).

Also organized folders to keep track of all my receipts. Divided them by month and then made folders for different topics, such as food, gifts, pets, household, etc. I was bad about just chunking them and then finding out I needed one!

Also organizing my scraping stuff today. I couldn't find some labels I had made and tore it apart spreading it around the room to search. I left it to make me organize it, otherwise I can't get to the closet.

Changed the cat liter and completed the dishes.

Still need to clean out the tub in the second bath. It was a winter storage area.

Enough for one day on top of yard work, shopping, and studies.

Yesterday didn't go too well - I've never been affected by pollen, but this year I am miserable with birch pollen. I'm supposed to set up at the Farmer's Market, today, but I think I'll wait until Saturday. The pollen won't be any less of a problem, but DH will be home to deal with kids and bring me lemonade with honey.

Today's list:
1. Skirt
2. Mend
3. Mail Mother's Day packages
4. More laundry
5. More dishes
6. Clean bathroom
7. De-clutter bedroom
8. Blow my nose 8 million times
9. Empty trash.
