I'll be there!!!!!! Jennifer and I have been brainstorming some ideas, like certain craft projects and donating items to charity. I like the idea of learning about grass fed beef. I contacted the Lone Star Duch Oven Society to see if they would send a speaker from College Station- have not heard back yet. If there are enough of us with horses, I think it would be fun if someone could lead us in games on horseback. ~ Mary LD

I'll be there!
I'd love to bring my Haflinger, but don't have a means to bring her and her harness/cart.
I'd be happy to contribute with food and supplies.
I'd bring a fishing pole too, but need someone to teach me how to fish! :-)
Can I bring my 20 year old daughter too?

Yay, we'll have at least 2 Haflingers!!! I have room to haul 2 of mine. Of course your daughter can come. I may very well be bringing a 24 yr old guest, an Au Pair who camps with the scout troup she leads in Thailand. Christine, where is Hockley? I SO wish my Haffies were broke to drive! ~ Mary LD

Mary, Hockley is 45 miles northwest of Houston, and about 1 to 1 hr 15 mins south from Bedias.
Jennifer, Will bring fishing pole!
So we should plan on bringing our own breakfast and lunch, and potluck for dinner right? Wine is ok to bring too? (I'm from Argentina, and would be happy to introduce y'all to Argentine wine! :-) )

Yes, Christine, that all sounds good!! Jennifer will let us know about wine- I've not heard either way on that! Hurray, this is going to be a BLAST! PS Jennifer: Can we do " stick and string" fishing at your place, or do I need a real, true pole? What type bait/ lures? ~ Mary LD

Christine, I am okay with the wine or whatever anyone would like to bring as far as cocktails. Also I can provide the main dish (Ham)for the dinner on Friday and the dinner (Brisket) on Sat. I also can provide fresh farm eggs for the breakfasts on Sat and Sun. so that leaves just the lunch on Sat. and whatever side dishes you all would like to prepare for the meals. Does this sound okay for everyone?
You can bring a cane pole or a rod with a reel. Either one with work. For bait you can use live worms, minnows or fake worms have worked for me. My ponds have bass, catfish and crappie in them.
Let me know what you think!

This sounds like lots of fun. I so hope I can make it to the gathering. I've been so busy this summer that I have missed lots on here. I had no idea there were so many farmgirls from Texas!

Ladies, take lots of photos and post them for those of us who will not be able to make it, o.k.?

So this sounds really fun! Let me check . . . and re-read the thread - I didn't really get clear about the location.

I have no horses of my own to bring, but have some experience. Would love it if someone would even let me participate in grooming. I love them and have no opportunity to "play" any more. I'll have to check into getting some gear as I have none.

Hey, everyone! Yes, It's me! I'm here. Just letting you know I plan on being here! Count me in for some baking. I may make potato salad. I don't think I am able to bring a tent. I am going to try and see if my mom can come too. I'll be watching this thread... and it's making me miss the forums. I probably will just get pulled in again. I MISS YOU ALL!!!! And I am so excited! Thank you Jennifer (and who ever else? I know I missed someone) about doing this. it just makes me so happy to see this!

I can come after all! My health has improved this year & I'm excited about this! I'll be bringing a horse and sleeping in my trailer. I am gluten-free, so I'll be bringing my own food. Would you like me to bring some Buddy's Natural Chicken? I sell it at farmer's market. You can read about it here: www.buddystexas.com
I can also give a talk on organic fertilizer if anyone's interested.
