I just finished sewing my tote today for the swap. I found a denim dress at the thrift shop and made my tote out of it. It is sooo pretty and I hope who ever I swap with likes it.

You know Shirley after seeing your post and the tote Melanie made let's add a little adventure to this swap...we can call it "sweet repeat". Try to use recycled items. If you're sewing you could use old jeans or repurposed fabric. If purchasing your tote try to add some repurposed/recycled embellishments. I remember a post sometime back where someone was using old clock parts as embellishments. When you complete the swap be sure to include a note about the items reused. After all, we are trying to make the planet a better place to be.

I got the denim dress at the thrift shop for $2.00 and made two tote bags out of it. I also used denim skirts and made grooming bags that are almost like an apron with a lot of pockets but shorter to put the combs and brushes in when I groom our horses. We use them all the time and I made some for my friends that have horses. I love to recycle and reuse when I can. You never know what you can find at the thrift shops or yard sales.
