hey ladies..id love ur in put on this.
due to some physical problems, I was unable to nurse my sweet Charlie like I had hoped I could.
I have done everything I can think of to relieve the pain of not nursing. Hoping this isn't tmi, but one side is dry and normal, the other side is swollen hard and red. I have been stuffing cabbage in my bra until I feel like coleslaw with little relief. I get it to bearable and then take a shower (hiding my sore chest from the warm water) and it will get inflamed again. then, i cant hold the baby on that side and wearing a bra likes to be the death of me.

I don't know if its plugged ducts or if its the start of mastitis or if they are just really engorged (gosh i hate that word)

my question to you all...what have you tried or done or whatever to get some relief. HELP!!

hugs
jess

Jessie, your hospital should have a lactation specialist. Call and ask. They can help you.

I really thought you were supposed to used moist hot packs. I know it is not comparing apples to apples but I had a friend who was a lactation specialist. I had a goat who had twins and her bag was HUGE and she acted like she wanted to kill those babies if they got close. I knew she was hurting. I called my friend and she told me to heat moist towels and take out to the barn. It took a team to catch mama goat and she was fighting. I put the hot towel on her bag and the fight went out of her. She relaxed and after about 20 minutes she was flowing well.

But the important thing is a lactation specialist could help you.
