Jim saw wild buttercups that are all set to bloom and we're way north of you about 50 miles from the Canadian border. I'm digging this winter. JoAnn

I have been hearing robins and other harbinger birds of spring and my willows have tiny buds! I hope that we don't get a late winter snow surprise here! I'm making my seed orders today, and going to buy starts at the farmers market this spring =) this winter has been more relaxing then the deep snow winters we've had of recent years. SO looking forward to a modest garden this year!

We have 30" of snow outside and the trees are hanging heavy so you couldn't prove it by me...I can only take your word for it!!

I saw about 6 dead skunks on the highway en route to visit my MIL in the hospital on Saturday. Not a very pleasant indicator, but around here it's a sure sign spring is coming. That's when our skunk population starts moving around again after hibernating all winter.

I saw a bright yellow dandilion flower several days ago. I am not usually glad to see them, but it sure beats looking at snow!

fingers crossed that my area doesn't get any surprise snow. I bought some ferns, yarrow and other goodies to plant today. Couldn't resist!

That's funny about the skunks - I smelled two dead ones on my way to work last week, figured it was spring-related. And I went outside yesterday and my snowdrops are up and blooming. Woo-hoo!!

Spring, oh spring, where are you? I have sent out seed orders and started planning my garden. So far all we have here is snow and more snow today and tonight...well you all get the idea. I can't wait to see some budding and greenery...I am super jealous!

Grace,
I had to chuckle when I saw your tulip momment.. as I just wrote about tulips in the rural farmgirl blog.. www.maryjanesfarm.org/RFBlog

We actually had some sunshine yesterday and I cant even begin to tell you how much it changed my whole outlook..we have been so gray and gloomy... I feel like, when the sun shines, that I am back among the living....

Under 40 inches of snow here in Minnesota I can't see spring but many of the birds are back and the eagles are finding their partners and standing by their nests. The great horned owls are nesting too. 35 degrees here today and SUN! I want spring too but I still have a lot of winter work here before the flowers pop out. Bonnie

I think we'll all be moving to Washington State! No spring here...piles of snow and bitterly cold winds here in the Northeast. The days are getting longer...that's about the only sign of spring here. Dianne

I can not believe that we still have snow here in the south. It came in December and it is still everywhere. There should be many signs that spring is on its way. I have lived here for 15 years and we have never had any winter like this one. I am more than ready for it to be gone.

ok I just put on my winter coat...
I also saw 2 Gorgeous Red Cardinals in my bare tree out back. I said thank you God for such a beautiful picture.
I have now decided to enjoy what ever weather I get to look out a window and see from my nice warm and comfy home.
Happiness is a decision and I have been wallowing in cabin fever for too many weeks now. I am just going to be happy. So if you see a Fruitcake driving down the road with her windows down and shorts on wave because it will be me....

Nothing but snow here!!!!
but, the sun is shining and some of it is starting to melt. Just sat in the parking lot at the PO while I watched a family of cardinals at the feeder. They are so beautiful and they weren't complaining about the weather. Oh, yeah, neither is the ski hill around the corner, They're happy and the parking lot is full

I saw my first robin today. Was able to shovel a path today to my gardenshed. The temperature gauge in my car said 58. Although that is not a good indicator of the air temperature. 58 still sounds good to me.
