I am wanting to start a seed savers club here at the farm. I want to be the "bank" and have savers and also 'change seed out'. I want this to be profitable. I know I'm probaby making this harder than it has to be, but I'm not wrapping my head around the whole concept yet myself. Can I charge a person a certain dollar amount to be a "club member" and then how do you determine what goes to who and so on and so forth. If they bring me in x amount of seed, what should they get in return? Am I over thinking this? I feel like I should do SOMETHING because of the response I'm getting with my own seed. Any and all suggestions would be appreciated.

I do not have any suggestions except to wish you good luck!! The membership seems like it would be the easiest way to go. But it's almost like you are functioning as an actual "bank" and your currency is seeds. Whatever you decide to do, keep us posted. I'm surious to know how this works out for you.

Perhaps it could be offered as a service you offer through your farm. Meaning, it's not for profit, but people would be coming out to trade seed, then see something in your barn they're interested in purchasing. Sometimes I think these are the kinds of things that help businesses obtain and retain customers...services unique to that business.

Ya know Juney poo... you have (and always do) a great point. I love your "outside" thinking. Thank you. I was thinking that route too, but I'll admit, I need money. Especially now in light of my radiation (can we say expensive??? wowzers...) so.....thank you. I will give it some thought. Maybe I will do a punch card of sorts.
