I saw this article today on how to display your collectibles and It got me to thinking. What do you collect?
I have so many collections because I have my grandmother's, my aunt's and great-grandparents collections. There has never been very many children in my family (until I came along) so I have alot of collections. Some of my favs are dishes and cookbooks. But what I collect things old and rusty. Anything that has rust is my kind of thing!!!

Simply Thankful,
Cynthia

Hi Cynthia:

Your situation sounds alot like mine! I have goodies that belonged to my great grandparents, grandparents, and great aunts and uncles on my dad's side of the family. Antique Kitchen stuff is one of my major collections. Others areas of interest include marbles, buttons, Depression era glass, teapots and tea cups, cookbooks, old tin signs, antique laundry items, and garden tools - especially rusty ones!

Cheers! ~ Marilyn

Dust ladies...a lot of dust!

Also, any blue and white china-vintage pill boxes-vintage quilt tops-sea glass-vintage perfume bottles-and lately cobalt blue glasses. Whew! I used to collect bread boxes of all things! Glad I phased out of that! I mean how many bread boxes can a gal have with limited counter space??

I collect cat figurines that fit in a type tray, antique marbles and Swarvoski crystal sun catchers and their annual Christmas snow flakes. These actually appreciate over time, so somewhere I have a box of boxes and the certificates of authenticity. And the best one that really get 'em talkin' is animal skulls and bones.

It's always a thrill to be walking in the woods and come across a pile of bones.

Antique books, china teacups & saucers, anything 'cat' themed...I have collector's cat plates, mugs, clocks, bookends...I love Willow Tree Angels, but so far my collection only consists of two, lol, and I love to collect anything else antique or tea related for my kitchen.

AND I also collect dust, Melody...that makes two of us. ;)

Fun topic!

I collect books, particularly on traditional cooking, homesteading, and sewing. I also love to collect furniture and home items from the 30s and 40s. I think the colors and patterns are so lovely. Utilitarian but pretty! Oh! And I love to collect feedsacks.
