well, it wasn't this week----8weeks it has taken....when the website says 4-5 days. WOW.....big big difference. I know this is a minor adjustment in my life but it is very annoying.
Meanwhile I'm staying busy.....my green peppers are starting to come out....ttyl....have a nice, enjoyable weekend.

Here's to hoping that card comes in the mail on Monday - and you can get on with your life without worrying about it. I wanted to say "thank you" for sharing your travels with us - I've been visiting India through your posts, and I love it. What a wonderful place - and so different from here. This is also giving me a new perspective on heat - holy toledo! And I was thinking that when it hit 100F here, that was time for a lemonade break in the shade for sure !

hi gal friends....today I got a returned application for my desired
card to allow me to stay over in India for 15 years without having to leave,,,,,,not that I want to stay 15 years without coming back to the USA....I just don't want to have to leave every 6 months.
Anyway, even though I sent all the required documentation needed , they returned it----wanting a paper with a simple family tree of names of my parents and grandparents' names on it---simple. And all the other documentation had that. When I go through such utter nonsence here and over seas in India it really really makes me realize how great America is......we take so much for granted over here.....simple simple freedoms and a smoother process in getting things done.
It will be another 3-4 weeks before I leave for India......so what was originally stated on the consulate's website to take 4-5 days will take about 12 weeks. India is progressing in many many ways---
but somethings are very very backward and slow......one must be very very patient.

[: thanks,but he is here in the states with me........he will inform the higher ups of this never ending nonsense  we have had to put up with-----it won't change because of his complaining...but at least he will feel better voicing our frustration.....well at least they did not lose any of my documents, which includes my birth certicate, my parents and grandparent's birth certificates, 1 death certificate of 1 grandparent, and our marriage license, and both of our passports.
Its getting hot here in Massachusetts this weekend----I better go do my weeding.

Well, gal friends, I am so happy to tell you yesterday the mailman delivered my long awaited card that allows mw to stay in India for 15 years.
This originally stated 4-5 day procedure ended up taking 3 months. I plan on going back about the 16th of July. And dear dear gal friends who I owe care packages to------you will be well remembered.
you know who you are---please inform me if you want me to include some bangles in your care package.
Have a nice July 4th EVERYONE......and here's hoping Dutchy writes us soon....I know she's back.....and I am now rooting for the Netherlands to win the soccer championship.

Hello Beverly, from a new one to you. My husband is Indian, also, and we discuss sometimes about going back to live - the pros and cons. What made you and your husband decide to live in India? Are you comfortable sharing more details about that?

HIYA Beverly!! Yes I am back, since almost a week now. Been quite busy already lol. Had the most WONDERFUL time with my brother in Thailand. Came back refreshed, a new person inside AND outside YAY

It was about 113F in the shade and in the sun it was at least 120-122 . No I didn't mind lol, I thrive in hot weather (yes I do sweat and say it is HOT but still love it, duh!!)
OH and I saw the most AWESOME fabric too !! Brought some with me ofcourse YAY!! Not nearly as much as I would have liked but at least I got some lovely lace and also silk for curtains YIPPEE!!My brother had also some left over from HIS curtains and he gave that to me (how sweet he is )And if I want some he will send it to me, so that is also great (I kinda "blackmailed" him into agreeing to send me some things once in a while )

Gal friends, I finally have my ticket to India and will be leaving on the 10th of August. It has been a long draing wait but soon I will be off to New Delhi.......where it is very very hot, humid and rainy. I am taking a lot of material and patterns to do some serious sewing.......beginner's level.
I owe a few barters----I have not forgotten......I will do it as soon as I can. And I do hope the one gal who I sent my precious scrubs to comes through---I hate getting burnt----as I know we all do.

It is Alee, and in October are the games coming ----the Commonwealth games---an exciting time for India to be hosting. Now there is so much construction going on it is unbelievable.
But you lnow Alee, Montana is BEAUTIFUL......I love each area of the states----each unique in its own way.
I have a card that allows me to stay in India for 15 years----IF I so desire.....we'lll see---I have a really sweet grand daughter here in the states who brings so much sunshine in our lives---I don't know.
I hope to hook up with skype and keep in touch that way....else I will be going back and forth.
Save your $$$$$ and come on over Farmgirls----its an eye awakening experience. Right now I am making diapers to take over to one of Mother Teresa's orphanages.......I hope to go over every morning and help feed the infants .....should ber a very enriching experience.

I am pretty much all packed ......and I am underwieight in my luggage----this is a good thing.But I still have to pack the dipers that I am making Mother Teresa's orphanage...ooo, that will defitely add on/ I wish that I knew the weather was going to be nice----but it will be brutally hot, humid and rainy. I am just so glad we own a clothes dryer now...so at least we can get the clothes dry...believe me when its humid and wet it takes forever to get your clothes dry.
Well listen gal friends, I better get back to sleep....ttyl

As its getting closer to the day I leave I have started to set up my web camera here in the states and will be setting up a web camera over there. Will be into skypeing and very happy to be staying in touch with the relatives.
I was very happy to hear these cameras are so reasonable---$55 and then skypeing is free....what a nice way to stay in touch.
If any of you are into skypeing.......want to be my skype buddy?????
Should be fun---then I can show you around India. And I would love to see where you live.
Better try to go back to sleep----I am getting nervous---have a few things left to do---namely make my mil petit fours.

I would love to skype too! I need to set up my camera... I took it off because I needed to plug the printer in. I can only do one or the other.

Thanks Mary Anne....tomorrow night 10 pm I'm off----finally.....but hey the long wait was well worth it.....my tomatoes are still green...but I got to see my grand daughter alot and take care of the new garden.
