Hoping all you travel and changing of things works out well for you. Moving around as you do you must see and learn alot. India heat etc. must not be that bad if you want to stay and like it so well. friends Lilly

yes, the heat is very hot-cannot go out without water or planning to stop for drinks as I walk.

hope to do alot of swimming when I get back minus the sun burn. But even the water gets warm.....oh well...must adjust.

well gal friends, our President Obama passed through my city Marlborough , Massachusetts yesterday......did not stay long...went elsewhere......as you know the east has had massive flooding....I do thank God my area was not hit badly.........I do feel very sad for the areas in Massachusetts and particularly Rhode Island that got flooded.
He was on his way to 2 fund raisers in the evening but met with the governor....and maybe visited some flooded areas. Please gal friends keep these victims of Mother Nature in your prayers this Easter weekend.
It has stopped raining and we are to have a beautiful weekend.

Gal friends, I am still in the states....waiting for my PIO....which will allow me to stay in India for many years without having to leave. Also, I am waiting for the skies over Europe to clear up so the planes can fly over without the volcanic ash to damage the planes.
I hope that this coming week it gets warmer......its chilly today our Patriot's Day when Boston has its merathon.

Gal friends, still waiting to get my PIO card to get back in India----because of all the terrorism threats and problems India is being very very cautious. Smart move on their part. I had to provide alot of info about my family background.....so just sitting tight.....I think the ok should come back in the next week or two.

Have a great weekend and HAPPY Mother's Day

it is a bit much---I have put on a little weight just from anxiety.

What will help is it warming up in Massachusetts so I can plant my garden.

Take care.

Wow...does it feel like 103 or is there low humidity? I have felt 106 once in Wisconsin... the air was so still and stifling. I could barely breath. I couldn't keep my children in the house though.

Oh my goodness Beverly, I dont think I could stand that kind of heat, Ac and ice cream homemade of course would definatly be the way to go. My hubby would like it though cause I would stay in and clean the house. lol If its pretty outside I want to be out in it and so of course my house stays cleaner during the winter months than the rest. Stay cool and hope you nget home soon. Blessings,Karen

Hey Beverly

Thinking about you and wondering how you are. I lived in Tucson for a few years and the temps there would get hot too (sometimes up to 120). Water is a neccessity. I am loving the napkins you sent :) Oh and the candy coated fennel is so nice after a spicy curried meal. Thanks again for a wonderful barter :)

well its May 23rd....and I am still patiently waiting to get my PIO
card.......should definitely have it by the first week of June----to think I thought I would be long gone....oh well God is defintely in charge.

I know one thing----it is super hot in New Delhi right now....so I am not missing out on too much. The driver that we had is gone----so maybe for awhile I will be without a driver. That is bearable----I just won't go too far for awhile. I have 2 libraries on my street that I can walk to......and then there is a pool within walking distance. But quite honestly I am dying to see my new kitchen...it was being made after I left.
When I say new kitchen---not in the entirity-----just granite countertops with cabinets above and below that space. The cabinets above are shiny white and below is a creamy beige all with silver square handles.....hope it came out good.
I am concerned about our cook and his wife who is my mil's maid servant-----my mil is as wicked as they get---I am sorry to say. Something must have happened to her when she was young to make her so challenging to get along with. Anyway, I need to be the buffer between them......so that's why I am leaving asap. I really really care for them...and would hate to see them up and leave.
It will be interesting to see how far New Delhi has gotten with all their digging, and putting in new pipes ALL over....in time for the Commonwealth Games in October. And they are in the process of building a new stadium. The ? is will they be done in time???? It seems they do things a lot differently then here......all over is dug up---nothing is finished....instead of going from street to street and compleating the job---its all torn up. Will be very messy muddy when the monsoons come.
Enough from me----I am enjoying gardening here in the states til I leave.

to the best of my knowledge about 105-108. I dread going but not really.....I want to beat the monsoons...where it is sticky and wet.
Good to hear from you Dutchy.....have a good visit with your brother.
Make yourself as cool as possible....I am thinking of ways I can get down to the librarys down the street without getting soaking wet with sweat. Ha.

Beverly,

I have a question for you

I was watching a british series called Cranford and in one episode a woman talks about muslin fabric from India to make a wedding gown with. She eventually gets the fabric but it is not like the muslin I have seen, it is fancy with a lacy texture. I am not a seamstress and have only heard of muslin used for more primitive uses. Have you seen this type of muslin? Just curious :)

Well gal friends, this is THE week I should be hearing about my PIO card....should be. I am trying my best to stay busy in the meantime.
Keep me in your thoughts and prayers----this waiting is a bit much.
