She is very sweet, Nancy Jo. I must get back to my embroidery soon. I have a horsey tablecloth I have started and not finished. I'm into reading right now. MB

I encourage Sunday rest by not running the washer or the vaccum, unless an emergency errupts! I limit activities and encourage naps. After church I usually lay down with my little girl and talk about her Sunday school. We always took it easy on Sundays growing up too.

It's all good!

I still use Sunday that way. No housework, no running around, just stay home and read or maybe go visit my mama or visit on here with you all! Folks have gotten so far from these precious things. It's run, run, run or gotta do this or that. We have no time anymore for "Things of the Heart & Soul!" I admire all who can still keep...well... "Still" on Sunday! *snicker*

Hi, I'm fairly new here and just came across this site. Love it! I agree with you girls about the slower life style. I'm 58 and my husband and I love being at home. Turn the tv off and read, do crafts and even play some games and puzzles. My children now 38 and 35 and on the go all the time. They just don't understand why I don't just want to run everywhere they do. Our way allows us time to visit family and friends and enjoy those relationships. They have big dreams of what the want and where they want to go. Some day they will realize it all comes and goes. When the relationships you make are there forever. I will continue to pray they find that someday.

I couldn't agree with you more Brenda. I will soon be 55 and I would rather have a peaceful day at home than all of that running around. It is so nice to just visit with family and friends in a slow paced atmoshpere without pressures and anxiety.

Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

Ok girls I am fixing to be 39 and well Im more old fashioned than my mom I guess, she is the one who likes to go go go and I am more of a home body. I agree that Sundays should be spent with those you love instead of catching up on chores that didnt get done during the week. First and formost Christ should be a big part of Sunday and well everyday. Blessings,Karen

I like how the Amish use Sundays as a visiting day. Since most of them don't officially have phones, it's a good way to stay in touch.

Ditto - love being at home. Been out there in the world.....done that, and found how important home time is as the years go by. Many people think that older folks get narrow minded and close their world in to their home and family......I am beginning to see the wisdom in that, and the simplicity of it too.....age lets you focus on what is really important. So, Nancy, see how your little Sunday girl reminds us of that!
