Has anyone tried to use the soap nuts in a front loading washer? I have to order a few things from Lehman's, & they are now carrying soap nuts & I was thinking of trying them, but not sure how they would work with the front loader with the soap dispenser on top. Anyone?? Thanks!
let me know how it turns out. I made the dishwasher detergent and it left a film on everything so now I am using it to scrub the sinks. I also made the laundry detergent and am in love with it. My things are coming out a lot softer...
I know this is an old thread but I just wanted to say to anyone still reading, I have used soap nuts exclusively for almost a year now and I love them! I am using a top loader BUT it shouldn't matter as far as I can tell. Just don't put them in the soap dispenser of that front loader! You just put them in their muslin bag and throw it in with the clothes. I just wash for myself but my original 4 oz bag lasted almost the whole year. Only drawback is you have to use hot water to release the saponin in the nuts.

I love soap nut. I have a top loader but I'm certain it would work fine in a front loader. I use soap nuts to wash my clothes but I find I need to use something stronger for my two boy's clothing. The soap nuts just aren't strong enough to get out all the mud and oil and whatever else they've rolled around in.
