Hello All,
I have a lady bug problem. There is one window in my kitchen that they seem to have taken a fancy too. They maneuver around the screen and come on in to crawl around on the inside. They don't do this on any other window in the kitchen or in the house. I don't know what to do to make them stop coming in. Help!

HA! Good luck. The ladybugs always come in like little military brigades around here. There's just no way around it. We've got TWO windows on each window (The original windows, and then an outside window) and they STILL get in. I keep telling my DH they're in the walls. I don't know how they do it, but never fail, every year we have ladybugs.

Starbucks and sushi to green fried tomatoes and corn pudding-I wouldn't change it for the world.

I have just started seeing them in my bedroom window that faces west. I just suck em up. I keep the little vacuum in there. In our little house they are all over it. And they stink! Nasty little things. They aren't even the good ones either. They don't last long. They'll be gone soon.

Hi Kris,
Like you suggested in your post I just took my mini shopvac to the ladybugs. You're right - it got rid of today's batch. Looks like I'll be vaccumming lady bugs for a little while :-)

I don't have any trouble with them coming in the house but I have noticed over the last two days my horses seem to be giving rides to hitch hiking lady bugs. I am finding them in the manes and tails of all my horses. They just sit there. My gelding had one on the top of his head for over an hour long ride the other day. I was beginning to think it was dead until he shook his head and it flew away. I have never had that before. At least they are outside.

I got a spray from the feed store that has pyrethrins in it (look on the label & it will list Asian Beetles as one of the pests it eliminates.)
We live in an A Frame with large picture windows, & they would cover the entire window. We sprayed in August or early September(ours are worst after they cut soybeans here in Oct). THis was a few years ago, & although we still get them, they are not nearly as invasive.
We sprayed around all of the windows & other cracks. Seemed to help.

If you have houseplants you have ladybugs. I think they hide in the dirt lol. My houseplants never get any bugs or mold in the dirt so maybe that's why. They don't hurt anything or anyone so I just leave them alone and they leave.

Give thanks to yourself everyday for all the wonderful things you do!

Mine come in an upstairs dormer window every February and early March. I use my dirt devil, too, and otherwise just let them crawl around. At least they do not bite, and the grandkids love to collect them. But when you handle them, they do smell! Like a lightning bug.

The best way is just to find that tiny crevice they are crawling thru and caulk/seal it up! I have 'em, too, by the dozens! They were ALL over my girl's bedroom this winter, lol. I vacuumed them up, too. They also make those little 'bug vacs' for kids. I don't know how well they would work, but they aren't supposed to harm the little boogers!

I swear those Asian beetles would appear in a closed empty jar if left long enough!!!! We have them in every window sill. They have been flying in the house all winter. My revenge: down the garbage disposal to take the big spin!!!!! When painting today I found one that had been sprayed by my DH with primer 2 weeks ago and it was STILL Alive! White with Kilz but alive. How can that be? I wish I could find something non chemical to treat them with. Until that happens they will continue to spin and be sucked up by the vacuum cleaner.

Those their ladies bugs are no ladies. Years ago while working at Colonial Williamsburg they were getting into some of the reconstructed houses. They found out that they were attracted by the red dye in the paint as well as in the drapes and other items though out the houses. The worst part of it was they were earring everything they landed on. They were so thick you could fill buckets after buckets with them. They ended up spraying and watching for them from then on. Still for the most part I do not know how they get into houses like they do.

I get invaded by Lady Bugs every year. I'm uneasy about spraying chemicals in my house around my Family and dog. I deal with them by just sucking them up in the vac.
