The airing out is not only southern. My grandmother promoted it when my sister and I got older. She lived her life in Mass and RI. Using onions as a major cold remedy is old fashioned according to my children, and so is using sh**e vinegar to clean the kitchen.

It's all good!

Beginning in June of 2009 and for five months following, we didn't have any hot water because my dh was replacing our hot water hot water heater. It was a long process as there were new guidelines for our new tankless water heater, like replacing our gas line and water pipes. Anyways, I felt like I went back in time. I didn't have to get water from a water pump or a well, but the outdoor faucet, when the water was shut off. If I wanted to have hot water for dishes or cooking, then I had to heat the water up on the stove.

You really appreciate something when you go without.

Ok I thought of a few more things.
When we were redueing our bathroom we had to go to the bathroom out side for I think it was 2 weeks, and take showers outside.
When we were doing our kitchen we had our old sink out side and we would have to carry buckets of water and heat them to do dishes outside. We did all the remodeling for the house by ourselfs. I helped build my goat shed.
I mow our little acer and a half with a really old push mower.
Me and my dad do all the vet work around our little farm.
And I think that's it for now. lol
Hugs,
Channah

But Channah you led the way for us to tell what we do!!! It is kind of enlightening when you think about it because I don't think of it as old fashion until I stop and look at things most people do now.
