I was visiting Nancy this A.M. and she told me about Karen and gave me her address. How sad and so close to Christmas. To lose almost everything. Thank God they all got out safely.
Cee Jay you are always so on top of everything, A true farmgirl.

I wish I can do more but right now all I can do is pray for them. I have others to pray for them as well.

It's Christmas Eve!!
I talked with Karen again yesterday around lunch (my time). She said the news from insurance adjustor was more positive than they had hoped. They were going to try to get in and start salvaging, etc., because rain is predicted.
She remains positive and upbeat, her sense of humor very intact and stating that they have seen HUGE outpouring of assistance!!!
I will be headed to Arizona today to my daughter's for Christmas . . . on the road ALL day!!! So, I won't be able to check into emails etc., until I get to her place this evening.
If you still need an address or clothing size information I know that Diana "gramadinah" has that and can help you with that (unless, of course, she is away from her computer today also)

CeeJay, Just read this post. I'm Karen's farmfriend. Wish that I had read the post days earlier. Tell Karen that I'm sooo sorry that this has happened and that I'm praying for her and her family. I am sorry to the family that lost their house to a fire! That is awful, especially right before Christmas.
I am thankful that they all safely made it out with their lives.

I haven't talked to Karen in a couple of days. Didn't want to disturb her Christmas with her family.
But I want to tell you that YOU are amazing in your response to the need of Karen and her family. JUST AMAZING!!!!!
I know that she will be blessed by you and your acts of kindness and generosity. I told her to be prepared for God to do some amazing things though this event.
I know that He did some amazing things for my family through our fire situation!!!!

CJ I got your emails and I'm rounding up a bunch of things today and planning on having the first load in the mail before New Years! I've been rallying all the folks in our small town for donations of any kind also! All of my neighbors (literally) are on the fire department here and they've said even the smallest of things help out...things that you take for granted every day like scissors, paper clips etc...just some things to keep in mind:)

Hi Farmgirls,
I was able to talk with Karen again this morning. Things are moving along but still waiting for final word on $$$ loss. Karen is working on contents and trying to comply with insurance guidelines on that. It is overwhelming and frustrating . . I tried to help her with that a bit.
While her mom is very helpful, she is pushing Karen in a different direction. I encouraged her in that she will have to be "in tune" with what the insurance company requires of them.
She has received some of your packages, etc. and wanted me to, again, convey her BIG, HUGE THANK YOU!!!! She said she can't say it enough . . . I know how that is!!!
Asking that prayers continue for the insurance requirements, all the clean-up . . . and trying to get some semblence of order back into their lives.
And, as is true to Karen's kind and loving heart . . . she put aside her troubles to ask about how things are with my sister and my family!!!

Hey Farmgirls,
Talked to Karen this morning, Thursday, 12/31. She says they are doing "pretty good". Able to get a lot of questions answered by insurance agent and has more peace of mind. Insurance agent is still waiting on fire report before they can go the next step on that.
She has been able to almost finish the contents list assessment. That is a huge task . . . been there, done that . . . and it IS a relief to almost be done with that.
She says that getting the insurance business "handled" is her main priority now so they can get on with rebuilding. She doesn't want to over burden her mom with them staying at her mom's.
They are receiving lot and lots of help with clothes, gift cards, money, etc. so they are feeling that support.
"CONTRARY WIFE" . . and hubby. She asked me to pass on to you how much she and Josh appreciate the gift cards you sent. She said they can tell which one is for her and which one is for Josh. THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!!

Again, she just expressed TOTAL GRATITUDE, APPRECIATION AND LOVE!!!!!!!
