Here are the rules for this book club:

We have to read one Jane Austen book every 2 months. If you finish before that its fine I just want us to have plenty of room in case something comes up.

We will read 4 to 5 chapters and then discuss it. Like what we like, didn't like, ect..

And I'm thinking that's it.
Here is the book list so you all know. We will read in the order they are put.

Sense and Sensibilty
Pride and Prejudice
Mansfield Park
Emma
Northhanger Abbey
Persuasion
Lady Susan

And last but not least just have fun!!!
Hugs,
Channah

Hi Ladies, I need to read the jane austin books so I thought I would be fun to have a book club. What do you think? I was thinking since they are a little long to read we could read 1 book every 2 months. Tell me what you think!!
Hugs,
Channah

If you can dream it, and if you are willing to put forth the work and effort, you can have anything you envision.

If you are a member of Ravelry (the knit/crochet/spinning group online) there is a Jane Austen Book Club (I'm a moderator of the group) and we're just getting ready to restart the whole six completed novels in 2010. Just in case you are interested!

Yep, Ravelry is www.ravelry.com. Once you join, just do a search for Jane Austen and you'll find the Book Club and the other Austen group that does readings separately, not as a group.

If you love Jane Austen and Pride and Prejudice, watch the movie Lost in Austen...hysterical! A modern-day British woman trades places with Elizabeth Bennett and all goes haywire in the story. Watch for those "inside jokes" regarding P & P...Dianne

Might I make a suggestion Channah! This is probably the teacher coming out in me...but maybe we could read so many chapters and then discuss a bit. I am not really sure what we are doing as we are reading...I just know that for me reading and discussing make it more fun.
